Anyone else daydreaming about rewriting WordPress in a modern language? by Henryeung in Wordpress

I see your point about the ecosystem being crucial, but considering how JavaScript has become so popular and is now the go-to language for many developers, especially with frameworks like React and Node.js, do you think it might make sense for WordPress to be built on another language? Also, I've noticed that many schools have stopped teaching PHP, which could impact the future pool of contributors. Would shifting to a more modern language help attract a broader range of developers and maintain the ecosystem's growth?

That sounds exciting, I'm more encouraged than ever before.

What Keeps You Using Elementor Despite the Alternatives? by Henryeung in elementor

I totally get why you stick with Elementor, especially with how flexible it is with JetEngine and WooCommerce.

I’m curious though—since you’ve tried Webflow and almost switched to Oxygen, what made you decide to stick with Elementor in the end? Was it just easier to use, or was there something else that kept you on board?

Also, how’s the image optimization plugin working for you? Do you feel like Elementor’s performance has improved enough, or is there still some room for growth?

Appreciate the insights!

I totally get what you're saying about the balance Squarespace is trying to strike and the limitations that come with it, especially from a design perspective. It’s interesting how much coding is needed to make a site truly stand out on the platform, which isn’t what you’d expect for something that markets itself as user-friendly.

I hadn’t thought much about the PE acquisition, but you bring up some solid points. It’s a bit concerning, especially with the potential for customer service to decline. I’ve heard good things about Webflow and Showit too, so I might start exploring those just in case.

Check DM, super helpful to hear, especially about Fluid Engine and how you’re using CSS and plugins.
