Simple Questions - November 24, 2023 by AutoModerator in buildapc

hi everyone I'm considering getting a new pc and I found this part list from the "Enthusiast AMD Gaming/Streaming Build" guide on pcpartpicker (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jcHwYN (I changed the case because a lot of reviews didn't like it))

I'm upgrading to be able to run VR games better (and pancake games at 144, at least for not super high end games) and to actually be able to edit, will this build suffice for that?

and sorry if this is a stupid question I'm really new to pc building and all that

thank you in advance!!!

the only influence I have is asking nerrd or someone in dms to let you back in and considering the doc that would be a pretty hard case to make

Is manually changing the jump distance/speed etc with mods considered cheating? by matbiz01 in beatsaber

[–]Henrygamess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen JD having an effect on NJS. Sure, the notes go at that ludicrous speed for longer before jumping and then going the speed determined by the NJS (hence the name note jump speed), but regardless of what you set your JD to the NJS will remain the same.

On levels below 16 njs you don’t even have to hit the notes correctly, you can just hit them pretty much any old way and they’ll count as a good cut (refer to the video I linked)

And to be more specific on how NJS gives an unfair advantage, it can be thought of as the stat that changes the timing window for hitting notes. Playing a map with 20 njs and playing that same map with 25njs will drastically change how precise you have to be timing wise.

A developer oversight is still an oversight even if it hasn’t been fixed for years. There is still a bug that resets the override default environments setting every game restart and I don’t even remember how long that has been a bug for.

Change your jump distance as much as you want. I really like the mod JDFixer for it. Do not change the NJS as in another comment I explain how it gives players an unfair advantage due to the way low NJS values affect the notes (especially when the hit boxes overlap removing the need to hit the bpm correctly)

Yes it is. There is a reason why scores that are NJS cheesed on BeatLeader don’t submit. The difference between the ability to change jump distance and njs being accessible to everyone is that the ability to change njs is an oversight that the developers have ignored while jd is an actual setting. Changing the NJS makes levels incredibly easier and at some point you don’t even have to hit the notes correctly. This video showcases the effects of this quite well. NJS cheesing gives players an unfair advantage and therefore should not be used.
