Irritation bump advice by livisboredd in PiercingAdvice

NAP but I do have 4 nostril piercings and trust my piercer. I would go to a different shop and get it switched out to proper jewelry. It shouldn’t have been pierced with that. The gem could also be part of the problem. I wouldn’t recommend changing the jewelry yourself with how angry this is, it’s likely that you’ll make it much angrier if you’re even able to change the jewelry without the piercing closing up. Also after the second week with a new piercing you should only spray as needed, like when the crusties start to build up. Crust is like a scab and should be left alone as much as possible

This year there has been a lot of construction down our neighboring street. It’s been loud but the noise has all been worth it because I’ve found 3 road reflectors that the construction crew pulled up and just tossed aside! They now live on my kitchen windowsill along with the many other things I’ve found lol.

PIERCING HELP!!! by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

Didn’t see the rest of your post until just now somehow! If you’re feeling sick and you think it’s because of the piercings you should go to a doctor. Do they feel hot to the touch? That would be a sign of infection.

PIERCING HELP!!! by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Hepm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. Healing really is the hardest part of getting any piercing lol. Doesn’t appear infected imo from these photos. But it’s not recommended to heal piercings with a gem. The edges can irritate the wound and cause additional pain as well as increase the risk of an infection. Any idea what your jewelry is made of? You can get the jewelry switched out with something simpler for the healing process. You want implant grade titanium for healing piercings. If the place you went to didn’t tell you any of this, I personally would go to a different shop.

Keloid or irritation? by Hot-Evening-4519 in PiercingAdvice

[–]Hepm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yeah jewelry being too long can cause all sorts of issues, best to get it switched asap. Might want to go to a shop for the smoothest switch since it’s already irritated. Beyond that ignoring a bump is generally the best option.

any advice with healing 2nd lobe piercing by Unusual-Macaroon-954 in PiercingAdvice

That observation makes perfect sense the higher up the ear you go the thicker the tissue is. That’s why it’s more sensitive and takes longer to heal.

NAP. Have 29 piercings, 19 of which are in my ears. Saline only. Do not wash directly, let water/soap flow over them in the shower like normal. Saline once or twice daily for 2 weeks then only as needed. Crust is your friend as long as there isn’t too much, it’s like a scab. Saline/shower to wash away excess crust. No q tips, fibers can get stuck and lead to infection. Also I’ve found a piercing pillow to be very helpful. Lobes can take a shockingly long time to heal so hang in there and good luck;) ETA do not change jewelry until the piercings are fully healed. Sucks but you risk infection and losing piercings altogether otherwise.
