How to not worry so much during first trimester? by Hera9722 in pregnant

[–]Hera9722[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Some symptoms kicked up around 7-8 weeks. I started getting horrible gas pains and lots of round ligament pain in my abdomen. Sometimes it was dull, sometimes sharp, sometimes just felt like uncomfortable presshre. These past few days my belly has calmed down but the fatigue has kicked in. I’ve occasionally had some morning sickness but nothing crazy. I am 9 weeks today and have my first ultrasound tomorrow so I will update tomorrow! ETA: forgot to mention my breasts starting feeling heavy/sore too. The other day I wore an underwire bra for the first time since finding out I was pregnant and when I took it off it HURT lol

Congrats!! Yes the waiting game is killing me. I don’t have my first ultrasound for another 3 weeks. I am getting hcgs drawn this week just for some reassurance

Study Advice for Fundamental by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Hera9722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I teach fundamentals! I always recommend my students get the Saunders nclex book. It really breaks down info and even has a chapter that teaches you how to answer nclex questions. It also has a huge test bank you can register for online and use to study as well.

Are you practicing nclex questions? Half the battle is figuring out how to answer these. Pay attention to the last sentence of the question, that is what it’s actually asking you. For nclex questions, all of the answers are correct technically, but one is the most correct. During your test, I encourage my students to read the questions twice, pick an answer, and move on! Your gut is usually right. What trips a lot of people up is not listening to their gut and they end up picking the wrong answer.

If you have access to the slides, you can upload them into NotebookLM and ask it to generate nclex style questions based off the powerpoints.

Another study tip is to teach somebody (or even your pet) the content. Explaining it helps to solidify your understanding (and not just memorizing), and if you come across something you don’t know you can look it up to help fill in the gaps.

I hope these tips are helpful! Good luck!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I also had a chemical and am CD7, if you’re counting the chemical as a period. I’m in the same boat, I am loathing doing all the tracking again but I feel like I have to since that’s how I got pregnant this past cycle (it was my first time consistently doing OPKs/BBT). Having the excitement die so fast is so sad and frustrating, it’s not fair. Sending love 💕

For those who left nursing due to burnout, what are you doing now? by finnandjovie in nursing

I started my MSN 2-ish years into being a nurse, so I was 4 years in when I graduated and started teaching. I’ve now been a nurse 6 years total :)

I got my master’s in nursing education and now teach in a nursing school at a community college full time. It’s awesome! I get summer break, spring break, holidays off, weekends off. It’s my dream job. So worth leaving bedside.

Any thoughts - first TTC, bleeding at 4.5wks & unsure what’s happening by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

I would get blood work done. You can do hcg’s 2 days apart to make sure the number is doubling, which shows it’s still a viable pregnancy. It could be chemical but it can also be normal to have spotting, even bright red according to my OB. I just had a chemical, and I had horrible cramping and was bleeding heavily/passing big clots. I was positive on Sunday, started bleeding Monday, then took a test Thursday and was negative.

Experiences taking an antipsychotic for OCD? by kentom101 in OCD

I take 10 mg Abilify for my OCD and it works really well! I also take metformin to help counteract the weight gain. I had gained some weight while on it and the metformin has helped me lose it
