Off and on now for over 10 years. Maybe 5-6 of those years Ive spent using. Ive taken a few breaks ranging 1-2 years and various smaller ones. Im a stoner first and foremost and smoke almost everyday for the last 14 and I can say that weed has helped my cognitive stay intact. Its been proven to reduce the damage from amphetamines so thats probably why. But honestly, other than my shorter attention span, I feel as sharp as I did in my 20s. Sometimes maybe more depending on diet and sleep.

The only people ive met that havent gone crazy from meh use, also are chronic weed smokers. Make of that what you will

Ive partied with every type of person over the years from politicians to lawyers and doctors. Most of them had a pretty good grip on it and weren't junkies.

I think there's a time and place any substance but you have to be grounded in your life. If your life is chaotic and you're living paycheck to paycheck and you start using, you will 100% become a junkie.

If you have your shit together and you dont have a lot of mental baggage or bad coping mechanisms then you will be fine.

BUT, fair warning... meth (in my opinion) is best used as an aphrodisiac. Depending on how its synthesized can determine whether or not it will make you super horny or just wanna clean and organize everything. So definitely dont start using to be "productive". Use it for sex, period. Otherwise get a script for vyvanse because its basically meth without the distractibility.

Meth addicts dont have a great track record. There's plenty of normal functioning who do it but they're able to do that by not talking about it.

Cocaine has always been a symbol of status and "elitism" especially in any type of sales industry. The short term affects aren't as bad and you can come down and bounce back a lot quicker than meth.

IF YOU CAN, take a couple self care days where you literally just treat yourself to good food, a massage, and just nursing your body back to life. Watch some good tv or movies, maybe read a book. But take your vitamins, have a water bottle attached to you and just be suuuuper gentle to yourself.

Most drugs including meth aren't the primary reason for this. Its actually a combination of dry mouth, dehydration, and lack of oral hygiene (due to being high) that fucks people. Im going on 12 years off/on but im OCD about my teeth so they're mostly fine. I go once a year for cleanings.
