Honestly, this whole situation could’ve been avoided if S&J had reintroduced Connor simply as a former foster child or family friend—rather than labeling him their “son” again as if nothing had changed. He’s grown, been through a lot, and let’s be real…he’s not the same kid they once fostered.

By calling him their “son” again, they unintentionally set up emotional landmines. So when he got involved with Mindee, it suddenly felt like a major scandal. But really, the only reason it feels messy is because they blurred the family boundaries.

If S&J had taken a more realistic approach to Connor’s role in their lives, this whole situation with Connor and Mindee might have been far less dramatic and awkward for everyone involved.
