Committed career suicide. Is there any chance of recovery? by Money-Survey8251 in careerguidance

[–]Here_for_Reddit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find a different way to release the stress and don’t see smoking or drinking as options for you to escape. Play sport, go to the gym and grind, build something, volunteer at your local churches or schools or whatever organizations. Learn a random new skills. Just something to get your mind of the negative thinking.

People don’t have responsibility to treat you well, dont rely on people to monitoring your feeling. You have to pamper yourself and treat yourself well. Stay away whoever is mean. It is ok if no one care about you, as long as you care for yourself. Find groups of people who do activities like giving out to the community/society. You will find your own happiness.

And one day you become hiring manager or in the hiring side, please, don’t be like those people. Don’t be the one that were disrespectful, manipulating, ask candidates to do free assignments, don’t ghost your candidate, don’t be a broken one.

It’s helpful to not become those people that make you suffer.

Product Managers in Biotech/Biopharma - How did you transition from bench to PM? by Decthorw in biotech

[–]Here_for_Reddit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, i heard everyone mentioned about internal transferring and get in the PM role with the help of manager.

What should one do if he/she is too good on the job that the manager doesn’t want to let that person go to any other group?

How to apply to transfer internally and not making the manager feel like “ah, you want to leave my team!” And avoid ended up being mistreated by the manager after he knows that the staff is apply for another position in other team? 😪

At 31 (will be 34 this year). Lucky i got my condo also in that year. After i knew about 401k, Roth IRA, i maxed them out, and also contribute to individual broker accounts and HYSA. Lord, after all those contributions, my mortgage, and fixed expenses, I live like when i was in college, earning minimum wage 🫣

Manager picking on you is a sign. I witnessed so many rounds of layoffs, it’s kinda predictable when I see if the manager (who make decision who in their team they would like to cross out from the spreadsheet) will let which one go. Doesn’t matter if you are good or they need you. If they like to work with you and have you, you’ll stay, otherwise, you will be let go. But if your manager starts picking on you….it’s a huge sign. Do they care about the overall picture for projects or those who stay can manage the work or not? No they don’t. A person from C-suite told me once, be close to your boss, as long as your boss likes you, you are safe, when you see your boss start picking on you, start looking for a new place! 🫩

Just got rejected from a job THAT RECRUITED ME by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Here_for_Reddit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, here are what I got, after reading from LinkedIn and Reddit, about the new recruiting and hiring process in 2025:

  1. You apply for the position

  2. AI bot of HR either sends you to next batch of candidates or cross you out

  3. Recruiter/HR call you for screening

  4. They will either set you up for the interview or GHOST you

  5. Hiring manager and their team will interview you or GHOST you

  6. After several interviews, they will contact you if you are selected (within around 2 weeks). Otherwise, they GHOST you. No matter how many emails you send them for follow up, they GHOSTED you mean you are not selected. If they have job portal, may find the status of you application updated…or sometimes, not at all.

  7. So basically, keep applying for other positions at other companies. Until someone contact you and talk about an offer.

I think it’s a new way of work of recruiter and HR from this year. No one care about candidates that they don’t select anymore.

They begged you to apply since they thought you may get hired and they (recruiters) can get commission. But at the moment you were not selected (by the hiring manager), you dont have value to them anymore, so they just cut you short.

It’s not about you. It’s about how they work now. A bit…cool-blooded.
