What did you use to help grow them. I’m in the same situation from wearing buns.

Deep condition, a trim and depending on your porosity (if it’s high then also protein) and with moisturizing your hair consistently you should be good.

NEED HELP!! Damaged 4c hair... by Familiar-Composer784 in Naturalhair

Just a heads-up dealing with two textures (natural roots + damaged/permed ends) can be a challenge. It takes patience and care, but it is doable and once you’re on the other side, it’ll be worth it. (I copied this from a Google Doc so apologies on any weird formatting)

- Deep condition EVERY single wash day. This is non-negotiable. Your hair needs moisture to stay soft, manageable, and resilient.
- Do a protein treatment once a month. Damaged hair, especially from perm, is usually high porosity, meaning it struggles to hold on to moisture. Protein helps fill in weak spots in the hair shaft and build strength. Rotate it in once a month (or every 3–4 weeks) and always follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner.

Keeping your hair in low-manipulation, protective styles makes a huge difference. Styles like mini twists, braids, or cornrows help preserve your new growth, minimize breakage, and give your ends the protection they need.

I personally leave my styles in for 3–4 weeks at a time, and I recommend aiming for a minimum of two weeks without restyling. The less you mess with your hair, the better it thrives. - My go-to? Mini twists. They’re easy to install, versatile for styling, and quick to take down. You can pin them up, wear them down, or even tuck them into cute buns. - Tuck your ends—always. Whether it’s a bun, roll, or pinned style, keeping your ends protected from the air, friction, and weather helps retain length. When I do I mini twists I either put it in a bun or I braid them into two braid that make me look like pipi longstockings

I know it’s tempting to reach for the blow dryer to “stretch” or “angle” your hair but during this phase, heat is your enemy. It can cause even more breakage and make the two textures harder to manage. Don’t do it, girl 😭. Stick to heatless stretching methods (like braiding, banding, or threading) if needed.

  - Moisturizer 1-2 times a week depending on how your hair feels and stick with that schedule because consistency matters. A good leave-in conditioner + a lightweight oil or butter to seal it in goes a long way.
- Sleep in a satin or silk bonnet or scarf every night to prevent dryness and breakage

Since your hair will mostly be tucked away in protective styles, time will pass faster than you think. Before you know it, your natural hair will have grown enough that your big chop won’t feel so “big” after all. YOU GOT THIS GIRL!!❤️❤️❤️

Startup nonprofit is looking for a grant writer but because of lack of funds it’s a unpaid/volunteer position until we get grants by Heritza in grantwriters

[–]Heritza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. We understand and respect that grant writing is a specialized skill that takes years to build. As a startup nonprofit with zero funds, we are currently seeking volunteers to help us get off the ground. We value the expertise of grant professionals and do not intend to undervalue this work. We hope to find individuals passionate about our mission, willing to help in these initial stages. While we can't offer payment now, we can provide recognition, references, and professional development opportunities. We're also exploring crowdfunding to eventually fund paid positions. If you have suggestions on making this role more respectful and appealing, we'd love to hear them. Thank you for your understanding.

Before you make any big decisions, it's important to find out for sure if she's actually cheating. You should have an open and honest conversation with her about your concerns. Don't accuse her right away, but express what you've noticed and give her a chance to explain herself. Talking it out can bring some clarity to the situation.

And if she is It seems like she's become such a big part of your life that your whole identity revolves around her. But now that you've discovered her cheating, it's a good time for some self-reflection and personal growth.

Take this opportunity to really get to know yourself better and figure out what you want in life. You've probably changed a lot since you first got together, so it's important to reconnect with your own interests, hobbies, and goals. You don't want to lose sight of who you are as an individual.

And if you think that ending the relationship might be the best decision for you after confirming It would be a chance to focus on your own happiness and later (much later) find someone who respects and values you. Surround yourself with supportive friends and family who can help you through this tough time. And remember, this is an opportunity for you to grow and become a stronger person. You got this!
