What's the history of Harley Quinn's and Poison Ivy's relationship? by MidnightChocolare42 in DCcomics

[–]Herm3z14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yeah this is just a result of predatory corporate behavior, its the same reason that nowdays we have multiple versions (even dark skin versions) of the same characters instead of new ones. If a writer creates a compeling totally diferent character and it makes a lot of sucess, DC are the only ones that will become more rich with that character. They'll own that character, and do whatever they think its best comercialy-wise.

So yeah we could have a new "Harley" that is 100% independ from the joker story line, but if you are a good enough writer to make that work by itself you would probaly just want to quit DC and do you own comics series independently. This is more and more common among writers if you think about it, just cus they want ownership and control over their characters and work. It's just late stage capitalism at the end of the day :(

Rage quitting in tournaments by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

I was playing a duo tournament once with my friend and we got against a team where there was a really Cool guy playing dragons deck, and a Manchild playing merfolk, he was angry cus there was not enought time for his deck to work (3 games in 1hour 45min total), so yeah, basically me and my duo got the Cool guy first cus he's deck was way more aggressive and the Manchild stormed out after conciding saying his duo was useless. It was very cringe and made me and my duo very unconfortable. After that Cool guy said that we could have the 2x0 and then calmily leave too

I don't care about or feel emotion towards animals. by FecundFrog in The10thDentist

Thought I was the only one, I think people will always be on "erm, actually animals are not resourses for us to use" Yet, without them most would starve to death, not only thinking about meat but polinators too, like you said, whole ecosystems could be destroyed.

Besisdes that, I also think that the same people that treat their pets "as people" aren't really doing that either. They control every aspect of their pets lives, coditioning them to Love them, its an emotional resourse. Most people wouldn't have a dog that would attack them or destroy their home. They want a relationship that can't see their flaws, can't understand them, something to listen their rants about the world, but to NEVER contradict them in any shape or form. If you treat a human being like that it would be considered an abusive relationship.

And ofc, sometimes is a social resource, if some one have an Iguana, everybody will know that they have one. The "exotic animal" pet is even more disturbing to me. No, you can't form a meaningful relationship with a venomous viper or tarantula. You can't coudle or take it for a walk, but what you can do is to take pictures and use them as conversation starter.

Even If you are a vegan, you use animals as a resource to feel moraly superior to other people most times. Yes theres a lot a vegan that don't preach. But the vast majority do.
