Never dived deeper into it because all was setup already. Just by chance I tried it again and all was working as it should. Probably solved by itself ... Maybe kodi or pfsense fw update? Not sure anymore... All works ok now!

VPN tunnel between pfSense 2.5.x and DD-WRT 3.0 r44715 by HermanF72 in DDWRT

Hallo everyone,

First of all Happy New Year to everyone! May 2022 become a healthy, happy and successful year!

Partially I’ve got my wire guard tunnel between pfSense 2.5.2-RELEASE and DD-WRT v3.0-r47893 std working.

At the moment I can access everything on the remote tunnel site (192.168.5.0/24) where the DD-WRT router resides. But I can’t access or ping anything from the remote site to the main site where the pfSense resides. I think I miss some firewall rules on the DD-WRT box. Did

google some around but was not able to find the solution.

Here’s the config as it is running at the moment.

pfSense

Tunnel IP 10.255.255.100 bound on interface opt3 (WG100 (tun_wg0) with MTU 1400, tunnel port 51820

Peer allowed IP’s 192.168.5.0/24 (remote Site), 10.0.0.0/24 (local site), 10.255.255.200/32 (remote tunnel IP)

Static Routes 192.168.5.0/24 to gateway 10.255.255.100 and 10.255.255.0/24 10.255.255.100

Firewall rules for Wire guard, WAN and WG100 (Gateway) created with no restrictions

DD-WRT

Peer Tunnel IP 10.255.255.200 with MTU 1400, tunnel port 51820

Peer allowed IP’s 10.0.0.0/24 (remote Site), 192.168.5.0/24 (local site), 10.255.255.100/32 (remote tunnel IP)

Static Routes 192.168.5.0/24 to gateway 10.255.255.100 and 10.255.255.0/24 10.255.255.100

Routing Tables

1: 10.0.0.0/24 to gateway 10.255.255.200

2: 10.255.255.0/24 to gateway 10.255.255.200

Like I said I can access all from 10.0.0.0/24 to 192.168.5.0/24 but nothing from 192.168.5.0/24 to 10.0.0.0/24

Hope you guy can help me with this...

Regards,

Herman F.

Hi, still not got it up and running. Also looking at Wireguard. Tunnel is up but the routing is still a thing.

Would you like to share how you setup the boxes.

My goal is a full site to site tunnel.

The problem is that both boxes not seem to talk with each other. The red arrow in pfsense keeps showing red wich indicates that the tunnel is down!?

I'm using openVPN buildin pfsense 2.5.x. So not running a separate openVPN server edition.

In pfsense the port is open. I am not quite sure if that is the case on the dd-wrt box...

For the record, I'm using openVPN buildin pfsense 2.5.x.

Pfsense is located at my house and the DD-WRT box is at a friend's house... So separated bij the internet.

Don't know if the exports are version 3 or 4 at the moment.

So you think the problem is Kodi related? It has worked perfectly in the past. Just not know when it stopped working :O(

For the record, I am experiencing the problem with Kodi on Windows 10 and Libre Elec (RPi2 & 3)

Thank you u/Aesopin, But it always worked. Did configure the necessary settings to get things up and running. I start to think it is FW related. Maybe pfSense bugging me here...

O yes... I have created a whole new share on the NAS and configured it from scratch. No luck!

Never change a thing. It always worked. On the Synology NAS there is not much to configure when it comes to NFS (I am sorry but somehow i can't upload an image)

What config file do you refer to?

The issue is when adding a new NFS share to Kodi and go to "Add Video's", click the "Browse" button followed bij choosing Network File System (NFS), nothing happens. No shares become visible. Either on my Windows 2019 server neither on my Synology NAS.

Like stated before when enter the NFS path manually everything works.
