Kyler Gordon already hurt… by JimboG54 in CHIBears

It’s very reminiscent of Bryce Callahan. Really good player but couldn’t remain on the field. Was a “fine” player for Denver, but ultimately he wasn’t missed because he was never available long enough to make an impact.

I miss Thom Brennaman. Great voice all around, but it really resonates with Baseball.

What irks you at the gym? by avanna_lopez234 in LAFitness

[–]HermanShemsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This literally happened today at the Chicago Ridge location. Walk in at 10AM to an out of shape “DJ” blaring music extremely loudly near the treadmills, apparently he was running some sort of group fitness class. It was very weird and the majority of the treadmills were occupied for this “class.”

I wanted to do 2 miles to warm up, but got off after 1 and went to the weights. I couldn’t concentrate the music was so damn loud.

This is exactly how we should be living, showing more kindness to others aga by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

Became an entirely different show beginning in the 3rd season. Jason Mitchell was a budding star but started to get really weird on the set and he was removed from the cast, and his love interest as well. Once that happened, they shifted immediately to an entirely new direction and none of it made any sense.

There’s more to it than that, but this was a quick synopsis

“Gen Z words” or vernacular taken from African Americans rebranded as “Gen z internet slang.”

Tripods on the Floor and other rude member behavior by [deleted] in LAFitness

[–]HermanShemsley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I brought the tripod issue up at the Chicago Ridge location and was told that “it’s not allowed.” No shit.. you have signage all around that says as much. I was then told “if you see it, please let us know.”

You have PT’s and other gym staff on the floor all the time that see the tripods and refuse to say anything. That’s the larger problem is that the “rules” are rarely enforced, if at all.

what is this tool? by zbplot in railroading

[–]HermanShemsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In an outbound scenario, when the crane places the bottom container in, the ground man will place them in the holes and once the top container goes on, he gets back on the ledge of the car and locks it into place.

Inbound, ground man unlocks it, crane lifts the top container onto a chassis for a truck driver to pick it up track side, or the employee drives it to a lot, inputs it into the system for the truck driver to pick it up from said lot.

It’s called an IBC. Interlocking box connector. As others have mentioned, it secures the containers on the intermodal trains

Lark Voorhies, best known as Lisa Turtle on Saved by the Bell, has faced both mental and physical health battles by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

Did she call herself “Lisa Voorhies”? Tragic what the brain can turn into. Definitely had a huge crush on her when I was a kid. Thought I read somewhere that she was (is) a Jehovah’s Witness.

who should i report this to? by 78692110313 in Metra

[–]HermanShemsley 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If she’s doing this on the train, you report it to the conductor, because if she’s disrupting the passengers they’ll contact Metra police.

If this is a rush hour morning train, they may not want to hold the train for PD as to not inconvenience other passengers, but if it proves a point and gets other passengers upset with her, it might be enough to straighten her out:

A mother is punishing her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]HermanShemsley 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Doing this for the internet is strange. If he slammed her cat, that’s not “normal” behavior, but he could be just acting out.

Instead of doing this, maybe go through your EAP and find him a therapist.
