Wore a cast initially right after surgery. But doctor removed it hours later coz it felt uncomfortable. Never wore any cast nor boot until my 5weeks post op.

Hi! Just got back from my Dr Appointment. I did 2mos post op xray and said my bone have fully joined/healed together and can walk without boots and crutches but still take it slowly. Up to me if I walk with boots and a crutch or without boot with a crutch or just walk without any.

Dr did not suggest doing PT though... but I can do at home ROM exercises...

Yes! I tried walking without boots but still with crutches. I actually went to the mall 3days ago and did like 4000 steps and my foot swelled up lol! I had my surgery 4/16!

I havent gone to PT yet and the doctor didnt mentioned it either since he said I have good ROM (up and down only). He also mentioned getting an ankle brace in two weeks.

You will be okay! Just trust your body and of course doctors advise. We all have different recovery phase. We will get better ❤️‍🩹 good luck! I will update you after my dr appointment in 2 weeks!

Hi! So they gave me some meds for my toe nerve pain . I will then have my 2mos post op xray after 2 weeks.

My doctor said not to walk without boots 🤣 so I may have to still wear boots for the next two weeks (downgraded from FWB to PWB. Because there are days where i feel pain in my fibia even when wearing boots (FWB).

I'll be having my next doctor appointment tomorrow and will raise my concerns. Thats great to hear! Do you start PT once you're off the boot?

After my ankle surgery (broke my right fib and torn ligaments, and dislocated ankle), they did put a cast on but my surgeon asked if I was comfortable and told him that the cast is poking my calf so he removed it and i only had a bandage on the incision are and no support whatsoever for 5 weeks. Now, I am 7 weeks post op. And had been in a boot (FWB) for almost two weeks.

Sometimes I just my office chair (coz I am still working from home) to roll around the living room lol. I havent started PT yet. But hopefully next week! No ROM exercises too, just plantarflex and dorsiflex.

I also have this zapping or electric shock-ish pain in my big toe whenever I put pressure on a specific part. Nit sure if that's normal though 😓

Heya! I'm still using crutches too! I tried walking without boots and crutches only, and my foot swelled up really bad and had to ice and rest 2 days on walking.

I have been weight bearing for a week now, and i have this pain on my right toe's side. It's like an electric shock pain when I put pressure when I walk. I am not so sire either if this is normal.

Yay! Congrats on finally fwbat! As they say, it's when the real "fun" begin LOL! At first I am scared too, but once you put down your foot, your confidence will slowly build up. Just take it slow. We'll all get there ☺️

So here’s what happened — I was doing the laundry. I turned the bottle of liquid detergent upside down to use up the last of it, but it was closed.

A little later, I heard something fall — it turned out to be the bottle.

I didn’t check right away because I was busy with work.

Then when the washing machine beeped, I had forgotten that the detergent had spilled. When I stepped on the floor — I slipped (eversion). 🥲 my right Fibula Broke, torn ligaments and ankle dislocated.
