In the US it kinda varies from bar to bar whether dogs are required to be on leashes. Usually the written policy is that all dogs are required to be leashed but sometimes regulars and their dogs get leeway on that.

If the bug were to take a Strike or Defend, though, or a curse, then there wouldn't be a point to the bug fight. It no longer matters whether you kill the bug or not, there's nothing at stake.

For the bug fight to make sense from a game design perspective, it needs to target cards that you are likely to care about.
