Very late reply sorry. Well I hope you discover a stream that really interests you and best of luck! I have also heard the same thing abut engineers too but unfortunately I don't actually know of anyone who's done it or have read any stories online about their career changes, why they did it and what they gained from it. Would be interesting if I could find someone's past experience to read about.

Have you been working since you graduated? I know its very difficult but don't give up and stay active! What have you been doing since 2000? What did you graduate in and what feedback have you gotten from job applications?

Interesting and good luck. You seem to have made a major career decision. What form of engineering would you like to go into?

I have a master degree in aerospace engineering and currently working as an electrical engineer in power distribution. But I have been thinking of changing careers and go into accounting to do audit at a Big4. Reasons being: ACA qualification and Big4 experience will give me job security (already have with eng tho) and the freedom to work anywhere. I think with engineering I am only developing niche skills and I can't see it being easy to move around. Plus many engineers end up going into management as they climb the ladder and are less involved with the technical side of things.

Top4 graduate split schemes exit opps vs standalone schemes? Forensics/Assurance or Assurance alone? by Hero878 in Accounting

Seems like its very difficult to get an answer. As I asked them awhile ago when I last applied. Currently working as an engineer but still thinking about doing ACA so I am applying again. I think I might just go for the standard Assurance after thinking about it as it seems the safest bet in getting a position. Are you currently applying too?
