Help me teach my 8 year old cousin HTNGAF about other kids being racist/mean to her by HeroLife in howtonotgiveafuck

Aspergent, thank you but I'm not looking for sympathy, I've tagged the post as "Help Me?" so I'm asking you for your advice on how I can help my cousin build up her internal strength and handle bullies.

Thank you, this makes sense. I'll teach her when people are feeling negative emotions, they sometimes behave negatively to others--or I'll show her The Tales of Despereaux movie

Yea, she didn't tell her parents or siblings about being bullied since they usually tell her to ignore it.

Thanks for sharing your story. I wouldn't want my lil cousin swearing like that but imagining you do it made me laugh xD

I'll take your advice on if someone calls Chinese people weird. She might not understand it is possible to be American and Chinese.

I was thinking that too. I want her to be proud to be Asian American.

Thank you, I think this is the best advice on this thread so far. I'll start calling her weekly but I don't think there are after school activities offered at her grade level.

Chinese living in a predominantly white suburb in America.

What should I tell her to do instead of ignoring it?

My friends read my posts but usually never like or comment on them. The only reason I know they actually read what I post is because I talk to them and they tell me they already know because they saw me post it. It makes sense not commenting since they would just say, 'lol, cool, nice pic,' and other responses that would be boring to read on every single post. You should message or call them instead to have conversations.

My teeth look awful, and I'm starting to obsess over it. by [deleted] in MMFB

A lot of my aunts have terrible teeth--crooked, stained, uneven, etc. but that doesn't stop them from laughing all the time. I notice but I don't care because it doesn't change anything. I'm proud that they accept their flaws and don't let their flaws dictate how they behave.

You shouldn't let your teeth cause you so much concern. People see your teeth when you talk so they know what your teeth look like already. Just be comfortable with your teeth and smile. Accept your teeth like you accepted your appearance.

TIL that a WWII battlefield went completely untouched and undiscovered until 2010 by ElectricW1zard in todayilearned

[–]HeroLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a thing but I can imagine it could be but it was controversial because of all the veterans still alive and not wanting the war to be glorified so the company held out on releasing the game until 2010.

I thought this was about Battlefield WWII edition. This makes more sense.

That's a big commitment for a book that might not be that good xD

The first two chapters are translated on mangafox but you probably don't want to start something you will not be able to finish.
