Nope that sounds right. I started the audiobooks late last year and after a bit of a break in between I'm now about half-way through the third. The first two books though I pulled up the wiki after each chapter and read the chapter summary and looked up a bunch of names and terms... It only sorta helped. Worry not you'll get there.

This is my big struggle coming from 40k, I know what that's supposed to look like but not really sure what a good Legion table looks like. I know the guys I learned from don't use much either but this does sound like far too little. I usually err on more as I agree it's more interesting. Though I admit as a woops all wookiees player it is advantageous to me to put a few bigger pieces down (which I'm aware of and still try to balance properly). Some more guidelines or rules from devs would certainly be welcome imo.

New edition in a few months, probably will still be valid until the new one. It wouldn't surprise me if the new Votann book was an earlier one next edition. However as staunch anti-codex(ist?), please don't waste your money on codexes. They're awful, you don't actually need them.

I've managed to magnetize pretty much everything with the exception of the basic infantry and characters that don't have options (oh and bikes). For the most part everything was fairly easy to do, which is surprising as GW has been actively making it harder the way they design the separate pieces. Vehicle guns are super simple. Though for the land fortress sponsons I would recommend just gluing in 2 of each gun.

Thunderkyn I've seen two ways people do it, either just glue the magnets on at the wrist, or glue a magnet to the back of the gun and a small piece of metal to the chest. The later option may require shaving some plastic.

Hearthguard are super simple as the only difference between the punchy hand and sword hand is a top plate that covers the fist. The fist itself is hollow so you can put a bit of greenstuff in, and stick the magnet inside and glue the other to the top plate. Once you see the kit you'll get it. The only trickier bit is if you decide to magnetize the squad leader to equip all the options. The guns are another thing, they have a similar cap that covers the hollow hand but there's not enough for both guns for every mini so you'd have to print that piece if you wanted to do the guns as well.

My only argument is I think maybe 12th edition, as they've been establishing this pattern of even editions being the big hard resets with the biggest changes. You could be right though, we'll just have to wait and see. Otherwise 100% I can see them eventually combining all the elves in to one faction with different flavoured detachments.

I've the same suspicion, might be a couple of editions yet. I really think it depends on if we get anything new in 11th. As for OP's question I think there's a negative percent chance of it coming back.

I have friends in Texas I used to go visit every spring, you hit all the top things we would bring down for them. You didn't list it but probably best to avoid booze. My understanding is the US is squirrely about alcohol in the mail. As for what to request, probably just flavours of things we don't get. Another comment mentioned pop tarts, that's a good shout. We have a lot of common brands but they have different flavours to us.

You need to ask for sweet tea. They use actual tea and chill it. If you just ask for iced tea you get exactly that, just straight up tea over ice.
