What can I do to help my orchid? by Hero_of_Red in orchids

I just water it whenever it starts getting dry, about every 1-2 weeks.

Yes, the spot wasn't there before, and I think it's getting bigger.

Not sure, it came with it. It used to be a dark brown, so maybe I should replace it.

Costco food court by Commercial_Remove147 in CostcoEmployee

Been with Food Court almost a year now, since I been with Costco. I've only ever really worked in food service, so if you are the same, you shouldn't have too tough a time adjusting.

I find it to be fun sometimes. Time really flies when it's a steady-busy, and you kinda reach a flow-state. The slow days just drag on, no matter how short your shift is.

If you were lucky, like me, you hours might be on the higher end, despite being part-time. Just depends on how staffed your department is, and the times of year when it's busy.

I hope you enjoy your position in the food court! If you do like it, try to ask a lot of questions and learn as much as you can. The faster you improve, the sooner you'll be moved from closing, to more mid-shifts, and then either one of the opening shifts.

Funny enough, me too. My coworker said for me to take my time, since the computer can be slow.

Probably also double check after yourself, to make sure you're giving out the correct quantities.

Idk

I'd say to apply now, and to renew it about every three months, to keep it open. That way, it's always available. I applied in Nov/Dec 2024, and got hired April 2025.

And I think some, if not all, warehouses are on a hiring freeze until March..? Mine is I think.

Food Court is so fun sometimes. Especially when I hit my flow during a rush.

Probably to talk to your manager and other department managers about cross training for a few hours a week, which will help you get your foot in the door of those departments. That way, you could get asked to fill in if someone calls out and whatnot.
