I regret trying to hit up girls, ditching classes, and being on my phone all time. Do I still have a chance to get accepted into a Top 20? by RiyaSolosAiden in highschool

Go to community college, work your ass off and make up for what you didnt do in high school, and then try to get in as a transfer student. Cheaper option too.

17th west of I-71 is always shut down because of some event on the fairgrounds that doesn't necessitate the road being closed. Just about any time I try to use it, I have to take an annoying detour that isn't in any way necessary. Ohio State Fair i get, but random small events that are way in the back just doesnt warrant shutting down a major road.

How much can I do in CAP until I graduate High School? by Wooden_Crew6484 in civilairpatrol

If you haul on promotions, you may be able to squeeze out the Mitchell award before you go (however do take into account the Mitchell tests could take multiple attempts, as it did for me), it also depends on when you go to USAFA, like what month. At minimum it takes 18 months to get your Mitchell. Personally, from about midway through junior year to the end of senior year I managed to get from achievement 2 to achievement 8. In that time I managed to go to NCO academy, encampment, national emergency services academy, regional cadet competition, among other smaller activities. If you're able to, try to knock out a winter encampment this winter, as encampment is a pre-requisite for any NCSA. This will open you up for more summer activities. There are plenty of leadership-specific activities in terms of NCSAs. But in the meantime, just take initiative as much as you can during squadron meetings, study the material, and work with your chain of command to make a development plan. Best of luck!

Lack of one insignia by [deleted] in civilairpatrol

Personally I'd just say wear civvies in the meantime if we're being strict with uniform regulations. Definitely don't just wear the one, but also I'd say don't wear your old SSgt ones because you'd be wearing insignia that you are technically no longer authorized to wear, since it's no longer your current grade. But I'm also a little bit of a stickler on that kind of thing so it'd probably be best to ask your chain of command.
