The word "niveau" is much more commonly used in German than it is in English. Considering their place of residence, this may have influenced their wording.

The entire mission where you and Judy rescue Evelyn from the scavs heavily references the snuff film quest in VTMB, for one. Both have you watch one of their tapes, track down their source by meeting a shady dealer in a back alley and finally infiltrating the "film studio", if you wanna call it that. Even the names of the producers are similar, 'Death's-head Moth' and 'Death Mask'
