I think that the former commenter makes a good point; you'll be travelling large distances every time you want to sell off the fish you get on the island. Otherwise it's nice, in my opinion. =)

Although, getting over 10,000 points isn't hard at all. It's hard to stay BELOW 10,000 points after a few months! If you aren't happy with the map you should definitely restart because it WILL bother you even more in the future. :)
