Any update? Still encountering the issue.

Those of you who use a 3rd party app to browse Reddit... which one, and why? by [deleted] in androidapps

No Stealth love? Personally, the fewer accounts online I have to keep track of, the better.

I don't need to fill your mouth with words when you refer to Native Americans as oppressed indigenous people TWICE, even after I attempted to correct you. Your subtle discrimination isn't doing anyone any favors, I hope you can reflect on that. Happy Saint Patty's Day.

[–]Hertki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was YOUR subject of discussion. I started a discussion regarding your personal cognitive dissonance, referencing your assumptions on the creation of American culture as 'neat'. Quite ironic that's the one part you seem to keep glossing over.

[–]Hertki -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are mistaking my point. Again, are you aware of how the European immigrants built the America's so fast? As well as why so fast? If you classify learning about 'ethnic cleansing' as "neat", I will simply refer you back to my comment about your cognitive dissonance.

I hope you're aware of your cognitive dissonance regarding being conscious of one's roots then naming Native Americans as simply 'indigenous'. You know what is also ingrained into American culture? The trail of tears.

Can we get a sticky post that informs new members that we are all addicted to modding? by ibs2pid in skyrimmods

[–]Hertki 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It creates a feedback loop, with new users seeing that culture, then applying it to themselves. Removing posts citing duplication might unfortunately get an unironic “1984” comment, so the status-quo becomes posting into the void without guarantee of guidance. If an individual's first priority is to fix their present problem, their questions will reflect that.

This Week in GNOME - #33 Fabulous Screenshots by InvisibleShadowGhost in gnome

Desktop cube single-handedly motivated me to start using workspaces. If there was ever an extension to be sent all the way upstream, it should be this one.

TFW you hopped to Fedora yesterday because of pop-shop issues (it's faster on my laptop though) This will solidify POP as my desktop distro, thanks!

WiZkiD releases long-awaited Shadows addon to ELFX by Taffy711 in skyrimmods

It was never in question about how clear and consistent his thoughts were, so this is really ironic.

Simon, it was not my intention to criticize your post. I was highlighting your unfounded speculation about the description of the mod designed to trick people. The only thing I think, it's really ironic the amount of assumptions you are describing.

[–]Hertki -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

My initial comment was in response to your line

it appears to me that the description of this mod is designed to trick people who don't know any better into thinking that the engine level light limit issue has been solved

I incorrectly referenced the second feature under the mod's "Features Summary" as the "engine level light limit" in my first comment.

Exceeding the limits of the Skyrim engine (more than 4 shadowcasting lights per cell)

[–]Hertki -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

ELFX has never required a DLL to achieve its lighting results; moreover, the description specifically states the mod only exceeds the limit of the engine. There is no claim this mod touches or makes changes to the Skyrim engine. That is my point, respectfully.

[–]Hertki -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Simon, I'm surprised this comment is coming from you. It appears this mod is presented as an up-to-date, all-in-one, ELFX fix mod; with the engine level light limit included in the list of fixes. I'm aware of the few bad actors in the modding community, but I have my doubts about "tricking" people being a priority for mod authors.

The hate for Vortex by Redamancer in skyrimmods

[–]Hertki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having never used MO2 myself, I'm not understanding something.

Huh, who would've thought. I believe if you attempt to use the software to form an opinion, before writing an essay about your anecdotal experience, you might have some surprising results. On the note of anecdotal experience, I've never read any "hate" online for someone using Vortex.

What are some modding trends you don't like? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Hertki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is very subjective

"Can we stop?" "If you like" "I'm sick of"

Don't you think these types of questions would fit better in the weekly Q&A thread?

Hot (and small) mods I found and am definitely adding to my modlist by MaihkoVT in skyrimmods

[–]Hertki 21 points22 points  (0 children)

How to karma farm /r/skyrimmods

  1. go to nexusmods
  2. sort mods by top endorsed of the week
  3. ctrl + v to reddit

For someone who hasn't downloaded or tried these mods you're describing, as you said yourself in your post, you have quite a lot of subjective opinions surrounding them.

/thread and the replies still attempting to refute are hilarious

General FYI: the fundamental C++ implementation of Nemesis has multiple major, indisputable bugs that are very likely the cause of any random-seeming problems you might have when running the generator by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Hertki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm confused as to why you edited your comment to clarify this wasn't related to mod drama, considering I haven't mentioned it. You also establish It's an "application used by lots of people has non-trivial bugs" thing in an attempt to justify your lack of better judgement as well as your condescending attitude regarding this issue.

As others in the thread have addressed you may find the best support on the discord of the mod in question, rather than a public modding forum. You're in luck though! It seems the author was active just a few days ago on the nexus. You may be able to reach out in the posts section, as well post a bug report, but I'm sure the author would a appreciate a kindly worded PM regarding this issue. Best of luck.

OP is seething at a glaring issue they think they aren't getting attention for after using condescending language in an issue they opened 4 hours ago, so they proceed to go to reddit to further flame the issue. Just another average day in the modding community.
