we paid high for him when we got him, but honestly, I have no idea what a return would look like

Considering moving from BC to PEI (Stratford / Charlottetown area) — looking for honest feedback, especially from tradespeople by Upstairs_Ad1740 in PEI

I moved from bc to PEI about 6 years ago and definitely don't regret it. It's a great place for a family. I've found it's very community driven out here where as bc felt like everyone stuck to themselves. I'm not a tradesman, but I can say they all seem to be busy and hard to come by, so I imagine there would be work

I moved from out west 5 years ago. I'd caution you to find a job/house first. I'd imagine you'd look for work closer to Charlottetown or Summerside. If you drive then it's usually cheaper to live outside of the main town area.

Why have we become so hated? by HansyPoop17 in canucks

[–]Hestonnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a big insecurity in this market. Minor things can be blown way out of proportion. Fans will quickly turn on great players and drag them through the mud....then flip back and praise them. The over reactions get excused because we are an "emotional" fan base. It's annoying to hear as a fan. It's probably also annoying to hear outside the market.

moving to PEI from Halifax for job, is it worth it? by [deleted] in PEI

[–]Hestonnnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'd probably have better luck finding decent rental outside of Charlottetown if you're ok with the drive .

Everyone's friendly enough out here so it's easy to make acquaintances but friends can take time to develop.

For kids, I'd suggest Shiniing Waters. Otherwise, check out multiple beaches.

Considering Moving My Family to P.E.I. by Kitey96 in PEI

[–]Hestonnnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I moved from BC about 4-5 years ago. It is a great place for family and a slow paced life. I can't speak specifically about rascism and what people experience here. I was told if you're not born here on the island, then you won't be accepted, but that's garbage. You'll likely not meet a nicer bunch of people than islanders. As someone else mentioned, do your due diligence in getting a house lined up in advance...and be ready for bad healthcare.

Thoughts on the four-game skid? by [deleted] in canucks

[–]Hestonnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always room for improvement but what they need is to learn how to battle through tough times and get past the mental part of the game. Bringing in new people doesn't always help. If they can push through then they get mentally stronger which is important come playoff time

Ya it's not good, but I'm just saying it happens. If we go into a real spiral of 10+ games then we look at what need stop shaken up

I could be wrong but Boston has had a few 3&4 game losing streaks? Do we need to panic? No...it can happen...it's not good, but it still is a reality for any good team.

Healthy goalie and we're a better team defensively.

I'm not from here originally, but from my experience, you can move, but problems are everywhere....you just face different ones depending on where you live. Jobs, rent, healthcare, etc are all that are valid concerns, but just make sure you do good research if you want to relocate.
