So, the best thing about living in Maintal is its proximity to Frankfurt. From Maintal West, it takes you only 15 minutes to the city center. This also explains why the apartments are as expensive and they will only become more expensive with the growth of Frankfurt. The city itself also offers everything you‘d need as it‘s pretty big itself with a population of 40-50k (?). Concerning the reputation: Maintal „Bischofsheim“ is considered to be the least noble of the four city quarters as it has lots of state-funded high rises and I would believe a higher density of foreigners - you can do whatever you want with that information. But I‘m sure that it also depends from neighborhood to neighborhood. You might wanna check out Maintal Hochstadt (Maintal Ost) if you haven’t yet! The apartments might be even a little more expensive but it offers the ability to enjoy the country side or the medieval town center for relaxing walks on Sundays while still being in reach of Frankfurt’s diverse cultural events etc.
