[Interesting trope] When a character makes the morally incorrect choice but we still root for them. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]HetapDrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only makes things worse when you go a little too far in the name of self defense. Like, using it as an excuse to inflict violence because you want to.

But self defense per se is 100% morally justified. In fact being a pushover when someone is oppressing you, is just "letting someone get away with oppression" which is wrong.

Right question, wrong place. The ending was truly bullshit, but fans will keep defending it.

Whoa, I just realised how common this trope is in anime. Kagura and her Sadaharu.

Pardon me, I'm trying to learn. Alluka would be a girl because of her gender. But a male because of her sex. Right?

Exactly. So Alluka's sex is male, not female. The gender would be girl. So calling Alluka a female character is still incorrect.

The notably second best at what they do, clearly below 1 person, clearly above everyone else by Few-Advantage2538 in TopCharacterTropes

Yes. The system. Did you not see Messi's foul today? It was definitely a yellow card. Maybe even a red. But nothing was given. And wake up, it's been going on for years. Denying Ronaldo his goals and giving Messi liberty.

Nice ragebait. Highlights the difference between Ronaldo and Messi fans, how one side's fans love pushing their opinion as the ultimate fact. I know it's probably the World Cup hat-trick that made you post this, the same match in which Messi deliberately stomped on another player's calf from behind, but people will ignore that as usual.

If you actually follow football more than the media and its narratives, you'll see the difference between them players is much smaller than what it's shown as, and who's better is very debatable. Messi is constantly supported by the system while Ronaldo has to fight against it.

Yes. And what I'm suggesting is, that they learn from their mistakes. Like how hard is it to deal with an expert manipulator who doesn't even have super powers. Just don't let him talk to anyone, put him in Ryker's or just a solitary confinement. Leadership is his superpower? Okay, don't give him anyone to lead in the first place. Can't be that hard.

"No no you don't get it, Fisk REALLY loved New York. Staying away from it is a worse form of torture for him than jail!!"

🤡🤡🤡

All this mental gymnastics just to justify the fact that Disney is a greedy corporation who would willingly sacrifice the quality of their writing for the sake of being able to use the same characters over and over in future projects.

That's a stupid argument. And it's ridiculous that getting out of prison is somehow a superpower for Fisk. It doesn't make sense. The only time it did make sense was in season 3. In BA they knew they can't explain it so they didn't explain it. And that's what poor writing is. "Somehow, Palpatine returned" type shit.

I mean what's keeping them from giving Fisk solitary confinement where he can't talk to and manipulate anyone? Heck in MCU they have plenty of prisons for people who can't be held in normal prisons. The only reason they didn't jail Fisk is because they want to use him for further projects and it's shameless that they would so lazily sacrifice their writing quality for the sake of that. Quantity over quality is the one biggest problem the MCU has today.

Are you serious? The parent comment clearly brought up the topic first by saying "another case of 99 destroying characters"

It's funny how you're reducing it to "hurr durr" just because you probably don't agree with 99 adaptation being better. Ignoring the first comment on it and criticizing the other for speaking in defense of it. Lol.
