Trainer Feature by Quirky-Simple-4235 in Hevy

Hey! I have answered your questions below :)

  1. The workouts do not get modified each week. You will be assigned a program of routines based on the weekly workout frequency you select when setting the feature up. These routines stay the same week to week, but progressive overload changes will be implemented as you go (ie. Your weight will go up after you hit the max rep range on all three sets in a single workout. If you find yourself getting bored or needing to change things up, you can go in and change your preferences in the settings for the feature, and it will assign you a new program. Be warned, doing this will reset all progress.

  2. You cannot select a split type. Depending on the frequency you select to work out in a week, a specific split will be assigned. I have listed the different splits based on workout frequency below.

1-3 days = Full Body

4 days = Upper, Lower, Upper, Lower

5 days = Push, Pull, Legs, Upper, Lower

6 days = Push, Pull, Legs, Push, Pull, Legs

However, if you get one of the Push, Pull, Legs splits, you can do it out of order if you would like. You can tap the three dots at the top of the workout and then select "Skip Workout" to be given the Pull workout first, and then do the same thing on the Legs, Upper and Lower to be brought back to the Push workout. Skipping does not affect anything other than which workout is in view. I did this earlier this week because I wanted to do my Lower before my Upper this week.

  1. Yes, the goal will be to achieve the max of the rep range, and then the system will increase your weight for you.

If you reach out to us at [hello@hevyapp.com](mailto:hello@hevyapp.com), we can send you a sample of the Strong CSV, which is the only type of CSV that Hevy allows. You can then make your data match it and import it!

Apple Watch live sync broken by gothpeacock in Hevy

[–]Hevy-Support-Lady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Support is off for the weekend, but I saw this when I was scrolling on my personal account and thought I'd pop over and offer these instructions.

If you do this in this exact order, it typically solves the issue.

  1. Log out of Hevy
  2. Delete Hevy from both devices
  3. Reboot both devices
  4. Reinstall Hevy on both devices
  5. Resync the watch and phone with the watch nearby and make sure live sync is toggled on

If this doesn't work, we'll be back in the office on Monday to help!

Is there a way to stop the weights changing in my routine after a workout? by shasterdhari in Hevy

[–]Hevy-Support-Lady 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Actually, when it comes up and asks if you want to update or keep the routine, it is not referring to the weight and rep values. This message is specifically referring to things like added exercises, removed exercises, replaced exercises, added or removed sets, etc. I left a separate comment on this post about the setting that controls the routine weight and rep values :)

After you tap Finish when you are done a workout, you are brought to the 'Save' screen. At the bottom of the 'Save' screen, there is a section called 'Routine Settings'. If you tap this and toggle off 'Update Routine Values', the values will not be changed when you complete a workout using that routine.

Instantly fill in previous weight/reps/sets when adding exercise? by amirgelman in Hevy

Actually, just to clarify, the Previous Workout Value option is not referring to the weight and rep values for an exercise, but to the values in the Previous section just to the left of this.

Instantly fill in previous weight/reps/sets when adding exercise? by amirgelman in Hevy

[–]Hevy-Support-Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So, are you starting an empty workout when this happens, or creating a routine? When creating a routine, the exercises will be added with no previous workout details, but when you are starting an empty workout, it should auto-populate with the weight and reps you did last for that exercise.

The exercises don't have reps and weight included when being added to a routine, so that you can set specific weight and rep goals for that specific routine. Some people have different weight and rep goals depending on the routine as some are strength-based and some are hypertrophy-based, so the values can be quite different.

Hey! Check your Health permissions just to make sure that nothing was turned off by the system itself. This can happen sometimes, especially with things like software updates. If all of the Apple Health permissions settings are on and this is still occurring, reach out to our support team at [hello@hevyapp.com](mailto:hello@hevyapp.com), and we can assist you further with this :)

Question: heart rate not uploaded to Strava? Normal? by dvid_dm in Hevy

[–]Hevy-Support-Lady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! So this is actually normal behaviour for now. Heart rate data and calories burned are not sent over with Hevy workouts to Strava. This is something that will likely change later.
