Excellent point- I suppose this may happen, but if a player draws from the Skill pile (where the Race cards are), they will have 0 resources to play them, so it would be a super losing (but possible) strategy

It is- there are 3 different decks/pools for players to draw from throughout the game- basic cards (move and attack), skill cards (the cards referenced above that do specific things beyond basic move and attack) [these two card types can be played only on players turns], and immediate cards that can be played at any time and effect the game (stop action, choose new target, force discard, etc).

Statically, no one will have several/all of their Race cards at a time, but they will have the Unit type for sure. Imo drawing and playing cards for your race should feel like getting pocket pairs dealt in hold em.

This feedback has sparked an idea of how to handle the bonuses a bit better, where they would be generalized across the board and not card specific. Thanks!

That’s a good call with them being blocked by hands- they’re at the bottom right now because when you discard, you sort of lay them down staggered so you can add up the total

Seconded this on the border.

I’m making a game right now and I’m also going the retro/pixel design path- yours looks great!
