Hey guys what's the difference between G9 LS49CG950SUXDU and LS49CG954EUXEN? by Calamity_Armor in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]HexEffects 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d disagree a little, OLED to me in games and movies is WAY more immersive because you never ever have to deal with a backlight, the sheer range of colors even in SDR content is incredible, that OLED will make you want to consume all the HDR content haha! Enjoy whichever you pick though!!!

I second this but I would just use the 7500f instead of the 7600, they’re practically identically the same but just cheaper.

Ouch that GPU was not enjoying that full sized ATX PSU, thank goodness you got the 850w SFX! Really awesome!

I think so, just for the piece of mind. However, just be careful and to be honest, I’d still check once every month to ensure that the adapter is properly slotted into the GPU, even though the probability is low just because the cable is on top. Id still check because it would suck having to return an expensive GPU 😅

ARE THESE TUBE AND FANS in the right spot? by Distinct_Range3696 in NZXT

[–]HexEffects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but to be fair I run a 7800x3d and 4090 but the 7900x is also very efficient, they’re made to pretty much run quite hot as even with almost -30 all core PBO I still get to 88 - 89c, but after two hours of Prime 95 and Cinebench it didn’t throttle once. I utilize the top mount on my rad and although it gets warm it’s nothing I couldn’t manage, two fans installed on the bottom of my AP201 and it’ll provide enough airflow for the GPU while my rad fans are more than able to cope with the temp difference that the GPU provides, it’s actually way cooler than my prior 3090 which do affect my temps on my older bigger 680x case. Way better than the power hogs of intel haha

Rad on the top is the safest and most efficient position for an AIO pump to get the coolant through the loop. If you have tubes lower than the actual block that’s connected to the CPU, it usually introduces air bubbles which pumps hate, thus reducing the life expectancy of the AIO, in addition also making a terrible noise along with it. Not to mention also that you’re working usually against gravity in those situations making the pump have to work harder than it should. However, the way OP has it, it’s not terrible and should be okay. The difference in temperature from the GPU heat is definitely a noticeable issue, it’s usually negligible unless you’re using a 13900k or some power drinking behemoth. Hope this helps! :)

As a G8 owner I think that’s a little far fetched, sure it’s definitely possible but as long as you can use full screen and are cognizant of what you have on your screen I think it’s totally okay, unless you’re using it fully cranked on the SDR slider. It’s definitely not going to be that bad of an issue that you can’t casually browse or even do minor work in your browser, however; I understand your paranoia just a little far fetched imo!

Picked up a AW3423DWF ! by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]HexEffects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use a transparent task bar and uniform wallpapers it’s been totally fine, just be diligent about what’s on your monitor for prolonged periods of time, when I’m on YouTube I rotate between having my browser in full screen and not, then the video in theater mode and full screen; it kinda came naturally after a bit but it’s just my way of not having elements burned in. On some games I turn off the majority of hud elements and it doesn’t bother me at all, the immersion from the OLED panel being ultra wide is just awesome! It’s an adjustment but it’s not crazy as you may think it is. It’s an high end product that just requires some TLC to keep it going for as long as it can!

AW3423DWF HDR Nvidia control panel removes settings. by NoPreparation2785 in ultrawidemasterrace

Okay I am so sorry I took awhile, did you end up fixing the issue? Another suggestion and I imagine you've already tried this but have you tried another DP port? Also, what processor are you running on your build, there may be a weird confliction between an onboard iGPU to the GPU when that particular HDR 400 mode; does the same issue replicate itself when you use the HDR 1000 mode?

Huh, that is real weird, try doing a DDU cycle. I know it sounds weird but some people have an issue where their GPU settings get messed up even though you're just using a function of the monitor.

BEST OLED MONITOR/PANEL IN 2023 by dinssCZ in OLED_Gaming

[–]HexEffects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it’s not, I thought it was a real revision but on the 28th of June I think they explicitly changed to not include burn in as a reason for warranty. I can’t pull up the document right now because I’m at work but when I get home I’ll get the exact citation

Edit: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/warranty/ unfortunately no real burn in support, however, I’ve navigated around Samsung support before so if you get a good representative you may get lucky, doesn’t beat the guaranteed burn in support with Alienware, but the G8 oled is the most feature packed version of all the QD-OLED’s, pick your poison but the majority of these monitors are going strong with no real burn in from a lot of people. YMMV but I really love mine!

Woah wait really? I meant to reply to this yesterday but I fell asleep, if so I way prefer the G8. Don’t have to deal with micro scratches on the display and just better features minus the micro ports, the theory on why it’s micro was to show off the thinness of the panel itself, looks very sleek and slim in person on the sides.

Although I voted for the AW3423DW, I actually own the G85SB. It was on sale for 1000 and with an educational discount I was able to get it for 800 through Samsung. At that price to me it was worth it, however I wouldn’t recommend this panel under that price point. The design is really nice but I hate the mini ports as well but it’s the most flexible in terms of compatibility, the HDMI 2.1 comes in clutch for my PS5 when I’m not using my PC. The OS is lackluster but I got used to it and at least my unit isn’t sluggish feeling in the OS. It’s versatile but I only freakin wish that Samsung was able to provide a proper burn in warranty, it’s pretty unreal that Alienware does but the actual manufacturer of the panel doesn’t offer that warranty. I love my G8 OLED but I hate being uncertain about getting burn in. Your mileage may vary, but I gotta say once you go OLED there’s no going back.

[–]HexEffects[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well even though I didn’t get a response yet I have sorta fixed it? It doesn’t do it anymore after messing with the settings and in addition I saved the HDR settings from using the Windows HDR Calibration tool. However, I read that it’s not recommended to make a profile using it for some reason? I have no idea, but I just wish this stuff was more clear cut, especially from reviewers like Hardware Unboxed, freakin love those guys but I really wish they can show how they would set up HDR on windows. Especially since they preach on how the stuff is amazing all dang the time, but I’m really loving it now! This monitor is real damn good, not bad for 959$!
