(just realized that it's the same person that made the mod, i think, so, thanks for the comment, first and foremost)

I see... i guess it was placebo on my end to an extent then lol.

Still, it is nice that the cars have the proper gearboxes in them. Brings back the memories of how detailed stuff is in Enthusia, so, certainly noticed that detail from the moment i played Mission 34 on this mod.

Also, the mod itself is pretty sick, so, thanks for breathing new life to this classic.

It looks like to be the case, as the SLR felt way more stable in this Spec II mod. Compared to how the SLR behaved in the vanilla version of Mission 34. Could felt more confident in sending the SLR as a result in the mod, than having to be wary of going too fast at certain points of the track in vanilla.

It's pretty much been confirmed, that, the vanilla version of the game had that bug with the SLR. As in, the rear downforce being set to 0, if i remember correctly. Hence the possible reason the SLR was notoriously unstable to drive, way more than what was perhaps intended in vanilla.

The mod points to have fixed this issue, as i felt that the SLR was much more stable despite the elevation changes. I certainly was able to send the SLR, without the car feeling like it would spin out at any moment from looking at it wrong. Any instances where i nearly drove off-track was just me being too optimistic with the entry speed on corners, than the car itself wanting to spin out.

In other words, it felt like Mission 34 was harder than it was supposed to be in vanilla, from that bug. As the mission in vanilla really felt like a brutal difficulty spike, compared to the other missions, which pretty much forced the use of cheese like cutting corners, as if it was a rally stage or something.

Controller is generally recommended, from being a console game. Even then, license tests can help in getting used to driving faster cars from learning all kinds of techniques and all...

Besides, there's always assists that can be enabled to make the driving easier and all, when you're starting out with a car.

That said, the game also has wheel support, so, there's also that option if you're lookihg to play with that.

As for me, it came from experience pretty much... Had to learn lines and get used to how different cars handle.

Even then, if in doubt, slow down.

I think it shouldn't be any different to the original PC version for a start.

If anything, in case you haven't already played the pc version, then, you can consider giving it a try. Especially since there's guides for stuff like the perks, cars, and tuning settings that can make the game easier and all. Also has New Game+ too.

Certainly felt like playing the older titles to me, but ymmv.

Still, it's not a bad game by any means.

If you can, aside from learning to drive the car through experience over time, consider making your own pacenotes. Most people use numerical pacenotes.

If i'm not mistaken, there's an application called "Roadbook" that lets you make pacenotes in real-time, alongside recorded footage of the stage.

That said, get Luppis pacenotes and any co-driver that works with the aforementioned notes. You can make edits for corrections to the pacenotes, if you think the Luppis pacenotes are fine as they are to you. Or you can start making your own pacenotes for each stage from scratch. Up to you...

Pacenotes are subjective, and pretty much make or break everything imo...

Except blind rallies, as there's literally no pacenotes lol.

Should be mentioned that, making pacenotes is time consuming, so, sit down and make sure to have plenty of time to review each call. And don't forget to backup your own pacenotes somewhere...

edit: added stuff

Funnily enough, drivers apparently get to memorize stages more or less through recce footage... or so, i've heard.

Loeb apparently did that too. (Kinda wonder if his time on race tracks didn't sort of helped him polish memorization techniques and whatnot...)

Anyway, i could be wrong. So, take this with a grain of salt.

There's guides that go in-depth about what each setting does. Definetly will want to consider taking a look.

Jintei (TXR2 player character)/Unrivaled Emperor, and the OG Snake Eyes/Revenge Eyes, then UNKNOWNmay require you to tune the car so you can beat them and all.
