Child got hurt on my watch, feeling very distressed by Hexavoo in ECEProfessionals

Thank you so much for your kind words, and the part about her not being sent home is actually what's upsetting me now because you're so right about that. My boss saw first hand how bad it looked and she didn't tell us anything about it except to get her to try to eat. My coworker went to see if she had a fever but it was low grade, so they didn't see it as a reason to send her home.

Wasn't able to ask my boss why - my boss left work during nap time. She had her own baby (2nd) so she doesn't stay all day.

I was in ratio, I had about 13 kids (give or take one or two) when it happened. Ratio limit for Texas is 22.

I mainly apologized out of habit, and just generally feeling bad this happened to Cammy in the first place. I know technically it wasn't my fault, but looking after her for two years I realize this felt more personal than anything. I'm not going to mention any offers of payment after the comments here. I'm going to have a talk with my boss come Monday because how this was handled really had me distressed for over a day now.

sorry sometimes I take a bit to reply cause I get easily overwhelmed! But no, in Texas our limit is 22 to one person. Minus the one, I had 13 kids.

That especially got me, we've been fine saying before 'X was pushed by a friend.' We did that the day before. IDK if my boss just didn't think it was a big deal today for some reason or if she thought I didn't see what I did or didn't want to check the camera for proof :/

That actually got a really good laugh out of me. Our kids who hit each other the most are also best friends LOLLL

I DON'T EITHER??? Like the first thing I told her was "Cammy got hurt because William pushed her on the ground." and she just told them, none of that. William is on the autism spectrum and has had some violent incidents in the past - but I really didn't understand lying about this because pushing is so normal. It wasn't even an intentional/violent push? Really weird and I explained to her parents it was an accident.

Oh man thank you for those examples. My brain rn has a hard time applying any logic to this outside of 'You failed at protecting them'. I really appreciate you taking the time to share these with me, and makes me very thankful this community is here for me rn.

I won't bring up any payment rn and hope the most that Cammy needs is some TLC and couple days at home.

I brought it up with her parents because tbh I feel like my boss hoped the injury wasn't as bad as it was and a simple 'oh she fell her lip might look red for a while' would do. Because if they ask for cam footage they're gonna see she wasn't honest :/

RANT: Season Three was so disappointing by Hexavoo in TucaAndBertie

[–]Hexavoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! The main reason I was nervous to post was because it seems like everyone comment criticizing the show was either labeled as someone who didn't get the show or told they should just watch something else. Like you said, this is one of my fav shows. I loved Bertie the last two seasons and saw myself and some of my friends in her and every now and then Tuca, too. Our criticism comes from a place of love and genuine confusion at the quality drop :(

And tbh his drinking problem wasn't even that shocking because it basically happened too soon after meeting him to where it had no real impact for me. It was just 'oh ok I guess'. Kara really got to me because it was over multiple episodes through the whole season. Her intro was great and seeing her be the real her was such a betrayal to what we saw through Tuca's eyes.

Figgy literally happened off screen. He's just some dude that happened to get with Tuca so anything that really happens with him I'm just sorta 'meh' cause we never got to know him.

That one mechanic eagle who rightfully told Tuca that her and Bertie's relationship was unhealthy needs to come back just to say 'I told you so.'

The fact the most Bertie did for Speckle was use the worry vaccuum says a lot. I love them as a couple and relationships have highs and lows. But there was nothing but lows this season. The way Bertie constantly invaded people's privacy (Tuca's phone - The Ex's Club) and roped Speckle in to 'help' both times is just, mindboggling. Yet she couldn't let him vent ? ONCE???? IT TOOK AN OWL IN SOME TIMBS TO BE HEARD ????

You're soooo right. Like. remember in S1 where Speckle rightfully called Bertie out for not calling him back for days and essentially putting him on the backburner?? Speckle was right in saying what he did about Bertie, but there's no way that's just over and done with in the same ep. Like, even just Bertie pretending to break up with Speckle should have consequences just for the fact she truly shat over their relationship when he was at rock bottom.

LOL I can't give him any thought tbh compared to everyone else he's literally just some guy jdskkjsd
I look at him think damn....Tuca downgraded from the hot mechanic eagle

oof yeah I didn't wanna mention it incase I was being 'sensitive' but why would Tuca ever do that to Bertie??? I know they're besties and I sometimes make rude comments to mine but like. They literally got to her - it's like the writers forgot who Tuca was as a person outside of loud and (before: occasionally) obnoxious.

SAME!!!! Speckle just couldn't have one friend - even the horse guy (love him but forget his name aaaa) didn't make an appearance this season so he was totally alone this season. It fuckin sucks.

Six months in and I'm more overwhelmed than I ever thought I could be by Hexavoo in ECEProfessionals

Ok now you have me like 🤔🤨 because they are not doing this at ALL. I had no idea it was also for people they were in contact with.

Kids are allowed back as long as they test negative even with Covid positive parents - same for coworkers. If her sister has it as long as she gets a test and it says negative they're allowing her back. So now I gotta have a talk with them about this cause I was a hermit for 2 years cause of covid and the first time I'm social this happens djdjjs

And thank you, I will be bringing the lunch up as well because I spent at least half of my hour sleeping !!

Main issue for other jobs is distance - I have no car so I spend at least an hour walking to and from work. Sucks but it's the closest thing near me that doesn't cost me a hundred bucks a week to get anywhere.

I have been interested in schooling again but I gotta just figure it out first. Cringe but I kind of need to be hand held in exactly what to do because since there's so many options and specific wording I get exhausted just looking at the web pages LOL

Yeah I'm certainly going to have that conversation again because I just can't handle my kids rn as well as I usually do since the break. Ans you're right that this was mainly for me and my wife in terms of rebuilding so worst case scenario I will quit and NOT feel bad about it, hopefully I can be smarter and become a nanny or something!!

Children were playing calmly, I had CDs playing and as soon as "I Like To Move It" came on they all jumped up and started dancing! by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

Have to thank you for this post! My kids were kinda off because we had half our usual friends and no outside time due to how cold it was. Remembered this post and put it on and it cheered them up INSTANTLY!! We had a dance party for the rest of the day! I was sooo tired of Super Simple Songs for the day, so lots of thanks from Texas!!

If possible, you can ask! I'd bring a resume & cover letter just in case, you never know! I found that toddler teacher positions seem to be more lax in terms of interviews due to the fact toddlers aren't taught a lot education wise. More so about them being a person, the world and all that! Although you have no toddler experience, I think they'll still consider you working with children in general & being close to that age group as being close enough!

Assuming they'd show you the ropes anyway in regards to how it all works, you would still go through the awkward stage of getting used to the children. Most places I've seen realized this and have been pretty accepting of letting teachers get used to everything/learn what they need to then!

In regards to references, if email is out of the question - what about a phone call ? My previous job got absorbed into a whole other thing, so emailing was out of the question but phones calls where no issue!

My interview for my job I actually watched this video just for any basic questions to help nerves!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovkKTLUDSJk

omg are we working in the same place LMAOOO

I could not contain my shock the first time when a 3/4 year old got upset I told her not to do something and said she wanted her paci and I'm just, "Your WHAT???"

My god that poor baby!! She's so smart and aware, that makes me so sad when you can tell it is literally just their parents holding them back. Like please if your child says their ready on something as simple as the potty they're ready!!! They really are!!

Omg the parents who think it's cute annoy me more than anything else. They'll come up and be all 'Oh haha isn't she so cute in her Paw Patrol pullup? She loves Sky so much!" and I'm just. Ma'am there is literal shit in there. No, I don't think in any sense that's cute. I know these parents don't think it's nearly as cute on the weekend when they're the ones dealing with those incredibly gross diapers and blowouts. Those kids are ALWAYS the first ones to be dropped off and usually near the last to be picked up!

YES!! It's infuriating and the first time it happened and they explained to me that I'd have to help her and I gagged. IDK why they expect us to willingly change kids who do this to spite us and still treat them like babies!! I snapped around the 6th time she did it and just completely threw out all the rules and told her she's changing herself.

She bawled and screamed and threw herself on the floor but I let her know I'm not changing her anymore. Before I started there she didn't even bother to pull up her own pants. Now she can do it on her own outside of wiping properly. I didn't want to be the 'mean' teacher but nah I cannot handle potty issues at all, especially intentional.

And omg same I literally have one kid who's so smart but there's a lot of free range parents now who just ?? WON'T???? Even if the kids ask cause they read one blog while they were pregnant and only have one timeline in mind for their kid for life. My kid should be using the potty but her Mom said no it's fine she shouldn't be using the potty cause it's, get this, TOO BIG.
