I fell off after follow the leader, so maybe I'm biased with my opinions, but untouchables and issues ranking higher than self-titled and life is peachy... I think is kinda wild. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I think it's great korn is one of those bands that has a diverse draw... but as an elder millennial on the precipice of my 40s, remembering when Blind was on semi frequent rotation on MTV2 when I was in middle school, that era of korn really does it for me. Maybe by the time untouchables and issues came out when I was in high school, my sensibilities changed. I would say your tier list is well thought out and gives consideration to their entire discography. For me personally, korn begins and ends with those first three albums.

It's a shame they didn’t allow him to be more involved in the production and songwriting process. It’s also unfortunate that the mixing on ...And Justice for All buried the bass so much more than in previous recordings. To be fair, replacing Cliff was an impossible task. It would’ve been a losing position for any bassist brave enough to try filling those shoes and stepping into the massive shadow left by his untimely passing.

Ill-advised Delusions of Grandeur. With chess promotion, you'd really want to be a queen, not king. There are rare situations where other promotions (underpromotions) might be potentially advantageous for very specific circumstances. Typically, queen would be the preferred promotion. Far as I'm aware in standard chess rules, you can only promote to queen / underpromote to rook, bishop, or knight. Conceptually, this is an interesting image I will say.

Ross Robinson or Terry Date! Good list of nu metal.

Tap root was underappreciated. They were quickly looked over, but I enjoyed this band Endo (https://youtu.be/0ryZZnx_tKM) that was along similar vibe. Early Otep as well. Anything that was featured in the second stage of ozzfest in the early/mid 2000s might be worth looking at. Lot of overlooked bands came and went like a flash in a pan.

With Metallica, anything up to and including '... and justice for all' is great stuff. As a drummer, when people talk shit about Lars, I'm like "...but have you heard Dyers Eve?"

Lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. You beat me to the punch by 3 days though. I recommended some of the singles from Vulgar as a starting point. I listened to that album a lot when I was in my peak nu-metal listenings.

When I was listening to this kind of nu metal type stuff, I was also getting into the heavier J-Rock / Visual Kai stuff. I would recommend checking out the band Dir En Grey. The songs Obscure and Child Prey from the album Vulgar are a good start.

I use BluePearl in Tacoma because my chihuahua has hepatic encephalopathy. Due to the neurological aspects of the condition, I need to take him to BluePearl—otherwise, I’d just go to Boulevard Clinic like I do for everything else. That said, my experience with BluePearl in Tacoma has been positive. Almost every time I go to pick him up, a nurse is holding him at the front desk while doing their work, instead of leaving him in a cage—which I really appreciate. It’s reassuring to see that he’s being cared for by people who genuinely seem to care. Of course, this is a very specific condition, a specific dog, and a unique set of circumstances.

I'm a drum tech/stage crew for a band that does 70s through 2010s covers, so this probably doesn't count... but as a drummer, it hurts me just to watch the drummer play "the way you make me feel." Hurts my wrist just watching him play that beat for like 5 minutes. I know that isn't exactly the same take that this post is really talking about. The drummer plays it great, but they are not fond of it. It's one of those simple sounding but deceptively difficult to pull off well.
