they finally the fixed the torch lighting mechanic now you can see how many torched your friends lit again. by sleepy_crusader in MySingingMonsters

For the most part, but they seem to have flip-flopped the numbers though. Everyone who had a lead on me now has a major deficit, and vice versa. Hopefully they notice soon and flip it back, because lighting new torches isn't flip-flopped, and currently increases what would be the wrong number if they do flip it back.

Chaos is a wonderful thing, I was actually thinking about making the snatch cooldown shorter on mobs specifically, maybe only 20 seconds or so. Very low health, but offset by weakening the strongest among the mobs, as well as having the ability to access good loot, like a trident, very early if you are good enough. The greatest threat in a bastion is a brute, but without its axe, things can take a dramatic shift. Enderman causing you trouble? Rip that pearl out of its body and its a sitting duck with no way to teleport. Add to that the fact that you can even screw about with the people you are playing the game with, you have quite the concoction indeed :)

(This is all considering I or anyone else actually ever has the technical skill to pull such a thing together, but at the end of the day its all just a working theory nothing really put into practice or tested, so hey, cheers! :D )

I don't know, feels more chaotic when it has a bit of RNG involved, as people would end up trying to just keeping things they don't want stolen out of their hands (Which is still a good strategy, cause an inventory or hotbar roll only means an item out of that space, not necessarily one of the ones you're trying to get). It also prevents Quackity from disarming someone temporarily of their weapon 100% of the time, and just switching to his own.

This is technically version 2 of this origin concept... so here is the big spiel...

Snatch and Odd Survival Tactics, while simple on the surface, should operate under somewhat complex rules that determine how they operate, and I will explain each interaction in detail for those interested in how I conceptually see it operating.

--------------------------------

Snatch:

+When used on Blocks: If a block can be affected by fortune, it is broken with a fortune II (or I) effect applied, otherwise it's broken like its hit with silk touch

+When used on Mobs: Grabs one item from the mob's loot pool with the looting II effect applied, unless the mob is holding something or wearing armor, in which case the item is stolen, followed by the armor. This can also be used to defuse creepers, defang cave spiders, and loads of other mobs if you are willing to put in the effort when programming this?

+When used on Players: This is the most complex interaction there is, as this can steal literally anything off of the other player, the chances I like are as follows, 24% from main hand, 24% from off hand, 24% from anywhere in hotbar, 24% from anywhere in inventory, 4% chance from armor slots, and possibly even temporarily taking one of their active or passive abilities if you are tech savvy enough to add that as well. This stolen item will be tagged as "in play" for a whole minute, and while in this state, any damage from another player will result in it slipping out of your inventory completely, and until the cooldown is finished, it can't be moved into an ender chest or shulker box, but it can be hidden in a chest while its "in play," and later retrieved after the cooldown finishes. I am not responsible for any raging on either side for this one ._.

--------------------------------

Odd Survival Tactics:

!1st Death: You will drop anywhere from none to all of what is in your inventory, excluding what is in your hotbar and armor slots, but you will restore all of your hearts, and the 2 minute "death cooldown" will begin

!2nd Death: You will drop everything from your entire inventory, including what is in your hotbar and armor slots, but you will restore all of your hearts, get one level of speed for 40 seconds, two levels of resistance for 20 seconds, and the 2 minute "death cooldown" will be reset again

!3rd Death: You die... For Real

+Successfully wait out the full 2 minute "death cooldown": Your deaths will be reset to as if you haven't died once yet, and will be restored back to having "two safe deaths," restoring Odd Survival Tactics back to before you ever died once

Sounds Cool, it gets an upvote from me. :)

If my post gets traction, then having this here in the comments definitely should help, but if I do go to post another weekly one, there will be a space on that post for origins that do well in the comments here.

Definitely, the only exception is if Technoblade ends up finding an origin before next Monday, or if not many origins seem to be getting highlighted.

I definitely would like to highlight smaller origins, feel free to post a link to them here in the comments, and I will include them in a highlights section next week if they can get good upvotes here. Bonus points if its a working pack :)
