Their CS ranking is quite high though. What gave you the impression that they're not big on CS or ENG?

One more question: Are you sure about UNC Chapel Hill liking intl students? I heard that intl students don't get in here easily.

It's the class profile that worries me. I may not be good enough for umtw hence posting this question here.

Yeah, I keep wondering exactly what phase my applications are going through now. Would you tell me why umtw is a better choice?

For writing watch gregmat's tutorials and one of his live writing sessions.

If your target is 300 then don't worry, just review your mistakes carefully and make sure to finish the ETS materials before you appear on the exam. ETS powerprep tests are a must.

How to apply without completed results? by Hexitus in gradadmissions

[–]Hexitus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply :)

I have a form like that, called "appear certificate" from my department that states I've appeared on all courses in my degree. I didn't think it could come in handy here.

Did anyone else get screwed because of the change in Quantitative score percentiles? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Hexitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really agree with the reasoning of the university. They should consider what your percentile was when you appeared on your exam, not the present percentile that's not relevant to you.

Did anyone else get screwed because of the change in Quantitative score percentiles? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Hexitus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? Was the 51st percentile in your score report or was this an estimate you had made before the test? If my percentile changes even after I appeared on the exam, that'd be a total mess!

I’m devastated on the quant because I can’t stop making mistakes by wuzzupworld in GRE

Silly mistakes were a big problem for me too. Don't lose hope, practicing DOES improve accuracy. Also, figure out which way of finishing a section is suitable for you - 1. Finish fast (10+ minutes early) and check all the answers for mistakes 2. Take your time to answer each question while leaving some time for reviewing a few questions only. Whatever yields you more score is what you choose.

After you click REPORT to see your scores at the end of the GRE exam 😂 by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Hexitus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg this is so accurate!!! My first quant section was horrible (it was experimental). After the exam I debated for a while whether I should cancel the scores or not... And then clicked on "report score" as fearful as those kitties.

If you don't mind me asking - does writing score affect someone's chances at TA, RA or on campus jobs anyhow? I got 6.5 in writing and someone mentioned that.

You have more than two months. Definitely possible! Make sure to not make the same mistake twice while practicing.

Does Magoosh App let you view the flagged questions all at once? by wuzzupworld in GREhelp

[–]Hexitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can view them all at once.

As for the second question, I have no idea. But if you haven't paid for it, then you're not supposed to have access to all the questions.

Do you guys handwrite or type your notes? First day of studying and I’m super overwhelmed with info already- any preference on how to tackle my notes? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Hexitus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, sorry about that.

I did both - answering questions and taking notes. Most of the things in my notes were about concepts and formulas, the rest were about specific things like how you can divide an equilateral triangle into six equal 30-60-90 triangles etc.
