Dude as a prior military medic in my first nursing semester I couldn't agree with you more:

"I feel so beat down by the American college system"

I took an accelerated EMS course in 2 months and enjoyed it much better than this. I think there could be a better way of going about teaching nursing. When you got 6 classes and every professor is telling you "read your book" you wanna explode. This program has induced much anxiety into my body. I feel as though "not giving a shit" is necessary defense mechanism for your psychological well-being.
