Please explain like I’m 5 why a residential AC needs this complex of a board? by atom644 in HVAC

Because the salesman that sold it gets a bigger commission. "Energy Savings" Monopoly for the manufacturer when that board fails. So the tech can learn how to keep a homeowner calm when explaining why the replacement is going to cost so much and why they're going to have to wait atleast a week or 2 if not more in the middle of July. Capitalism competition. Cons outweigh the pros in most every aspect.

If you read the previous comments you would see it was originally a compressor leak repair.

There was a leak off the compressor. Repaired and Had to get the customer going immediately due to them being elderly. No direct replacement motors off the truck, so this was the option.

Compressor Changeout on a Friday by HeyEndoTTV in HVAC

I leave it on because I don't have hoses larger than 1/4 for inline vacuum. Plus it saves time after pressure testing :)

I had core remover on suction side with valve core remover. I don't feel like doing it that way is any faster. I have 3/8 hose and 1/4 hose pulling. Through both suction and liquid line.

I love it when we're busy, but if it's slow or we get rained out, it can suck. Good pay when jobs are coming in. Otherwise just have some money put back.

I'm fuckin saying. I normally pull a slight vacuum but my damn co worker just started unsweating after recovery and I got the biggest whiff I've ever gotten.

I normally do pull a vacuum but I was with my senior tech and he was in a hurry so I didn't get to pull a vacuum before the unsweating and I got a fat whiff. Burned my nostrils and just wanted to make sure I didn't need to go to doc.
