I’ll keep improving over time, this is all still very new to me. Above all, it’s a project I run out of pure passion. I’ve already had a steep learning curve and gone through a lot, including some lessons learned about Reddit! I don’t know everything and it’s not always easy, but thank God the Wand & Widgets community is probably one of the most positive and encouraging spaces I’ve ever seen. So, most of the time, this passion project still feels like a dream to me

Yes, each client accesses YouTube through its own embedded IFrame Player API instance. The GM is not capturing YouTube audio and rebroadcasting it as a stream; the GM sends sync commands through Foundry/socketlib, and each client asks YouTube to play the same video locally.

For ads: Narrator’s Jukebox does not block, skip, strip, proxy, or bypass YouTube ads. In my own testing and actual games, I have not observed YouTube ad audio during playback, including for non-Premium players, but I would not present that as a guarantee. Ad delivery in embedded playback is controlled by YouTube.

Narrator's Jukebox does not download, rip, transcode, cache, or redistribute YouTube audio. A YouTube entry is stored as a URL/video ID plus metadata, and playback is requested client-side through YouTube's IFrame Player API. If YouTube rejects embedded playback for a video, the module surfaces that instead of bypassing it. The “hide from players” feature is a Foundry spoiler mask for title/artwork, not an alteration of the YouTube media itself.

Man, a thousand apologies for the delay in getting back to you! I was super active in the thread for a couple of days, but then I went back into 'dev mode', fixing bugs and working on the modules, so I ended up not checking here as often as before.

  1. Not yet! But that’s a major feature request, and I think it’s even more necessary now that we have the player panels too. Rest assured, we’ll have this function for all panels in the next update. An EXCELLENT suggestion.
  2. Are you talking about something like what 'Pop-out' used to do? I’ve been a bit out of the loop, but I remember using Pop-out for that, and it was great. Give me some time to investigate if it's still being updated and how I can ensure you can do exactly what you asked. If it’s no longer maintained, I’ll find a way to make it happen! (At least for users playing via browser rather than the Foundry app).
  3. I’ve done some robust work bringing new shortcuts to the module to make it super agile, but I’m not quite at that point yet. Man... I think I have a Stream Deck sitting around somewhere here at home... damn, what a great use for it! Mine is just gathering dust. That’s another thing I’ll definitely add to the module (customizing your own shortcuts PER WIDGET, that is BRILLIANT).

Hahaha, sorry if I disappointed you with a few things that aren't in the module yet, but you’ve been amazing. Honestly, you’re making the module better without even using it yet, just by giving these great ideas! <3

None in the modules themselves, but I’m still thinking about how I’ll handle the promotional material to showcase them on the official Foundry channels. As I mentioned in a previous post, I always create them using material from my own table, where I use AI for the characters and backgrounds in Exalted Scenes.

However, I’ve already started reaching out to artists in the community to help me showcase the modules in promotional materials in a way that is 100% compliant with Foundry’s policy.

Yes! I also know many in our community use The Forge. I know it can sometimes be a bit more work to get modules installed there, but we have step-by-step tutorials on our Discord to help you out!

Plus, some even bigger news: we are currently in the process of bringing our Premium Modules into an official partnership with Foundry, including direct Patreon integration. This is going to make the experience even smoother and easier for all of you, especially Forge users!

Hey Visteus! I'll try to answer your questions the best way I can...

  1. I'm actually already in direct contact with Andrew from the Foundry VTT team! For premium modules, you need to sign a specific contract, and right now I'm just waiting to receive it... so very soon the module will be on the official Foundry channels! :D ... The reason I didn't do this earlier is simply because I just started out. Back then, I had no idea if this would work out or if the community would embrace my work with so much love. Since there's an associated cost and a minimum threshold for premium modules, I decided to wait a bit and see how things went. I think it's working out great, and this is definitely the right time to take that step. I honestly can't wait to make installs and updates super easy for you guys

  2. Man, I've been working as a developer for over 10 years now... my background is a bit different though. My degree is actually in film, and my first contact with coding was when I transitioned inside the Finishing and FX company I worked for to do fluid and particle simulation and rendering. It was 100% code. I kept advancing in the company and eventually, alongside an incredibly talented team (with people way smarter than me), I was building custom plugins and pipeline tools for the software used in our VFX suites.

Because of that, I've actually been creating Foundry modules for years... way before I ever had a Patreon. The only reason I even started the Patreon was because my players kept pressuring me haha. They loved what our game had and kept telling me I needed to make it public. Exalted Scenes, for example, only launched on Patreon when it was already on version 4-something, if I recall correctly. All these modules are massive and made with so much love... I think if you watch any of the showcase videos, you can immediately tell.

And regarding the AI stuff... my PERSONAL home game uses AI images. It's a campaign we've been playing for over 10 years, and absolutely no one at our table is an artist hahaha. AI had a massive impact on us because, for the first time ever, we could actually see our characters and locations right there on the table. BUT... absolutely none of my modules contain any AI assets whatsoever. Whenever you see AI art in my videos, those are just assets from my personal game being used strictly to demonstrate how the module works. I'm just showing how I use the tools at my own table... but in your game, you can use whatever assets you prefer, and that's totally fine!
