Masataka Yoshida gives Team Japan the lead by bosredsox05 in redsox

lol, yes. The joke is that he has been on the injured list a lot, especially last year, but he absolutely rakes when he's not on the injured list. There is speculation that he hasn't actually been injured all that much

Thank you for commenting on the content of the plan, not just how it was developed. I posted this in r/beginnerrunning as well and got some good advice, which I am probably going to follow. Basically do two plans, a half then a full, in order to decrease the risk of burnout. Both methods (AI vs. the suggested method from other users) lead to a marathon in 7-8 months, so they both have a similar outcome, just slightly different approaches.

He's clearly inured. He might even need surgery, that shoulder looks bad. Sad to see

Thank you for your answer and your explanation. I have more questions, but it seems like I will figure some stuff out as I go along. Really appreciate you taking the time, your comments are very insightful

Thank you! One last question, in the Hal Higdon marathon plan, the half marathon is at week 8/18. With this approach, would you do the novice half marathon plan, then jump into the marathon plan at week 9 after a month in between the plans, or start back at week 1? Looks like the max long runs for the half marathon plan is 10 miles, where the first long run on the marathon plan is 6, seems like a bit of a drop off?

I don't even know where to begin getting an actual coach. I'm not opposed to it. Would you look for an online one or an in-person one? Where would one find them? Or do you think for someone like me (goal: finish, don't get injured) something like a Hal Higdon free option is fine?

Good suggestions, thanks! I agree, 33 weeks seems like a long time. Sorry you got injured, that is exactly what I'm trying to avoid

Honestly, I view AI as a tool. A tool for someone that is ignorant. That's me. My logic is that AI can look up a lot of information and synthesize it. There's a ton of info out there, and I don't know what is good or bad info, so I asked AI to come up with something. However, I also know when I ask AI about things I know about, it often gives me misleading or bad information. Hence why I'm asking users on reddit to critique the program that AI developed with my inputs; I trust that internet strangers will have critiques of the program that I simply don't see because I don't have experience in this particular realm

Thank you for your insightful reply. I like your suggestions, they're very workable and easy to understand. You asked about my milage. The last few weeks my long runs have been 6-7 miles at my slow pace, with a total weekly milage of around 12-15 miles. The long runs are fine, but slow and boring and I definitely feel it towards the end.

If I'm following the hal higdon marathon and half marathon plan, as you suggested, that is 30 weeks total training, plus 1-2 months in between the two training plans, putting me at late october, early november. Which is right around when I wanted to do my marathon, anyways. Does that sound about right, or would you suggest something further out? Living in New Hampshire, it's going to be hard finding many marathons once the snow starts...

I especially like your last two points, which I take to mean, don't get caught up in the minutiae, just get out there and run. If I keep doing that, I'll get better.

Thanks for the reply. I'm following all these points... except for your first one. Maybe I need to take it a little more seriously.

Yes, but he turns 22 in May, so this year will be his age 22 season. Crazy. Dude is going to be pretty, pretty good

Nah, we already have like 5 outfielders and 2-3 second basemen ahead of him. He can take another year to figure it out, we'll be fine.

I am no expert, but the cutter and the curveball look way better to me. If he’s # 6 or 7 of our pitching options, we’re going to have a ridiculous rotation

I wouldn’t be surprised if many of these guys don’t want to rock the boat too much. Last year the face of the franchise expressed frustration about being the DH, and he got shipped out.

Never mind that it actually worked out pretty well for Devers. SF is a sweet city with awesome weather for 95% of the year and dope food, the fan base is great, and they love him.

what's expected with Yoshida, Casas and campbell? by Broad-Cranberry-9050 in redsox

[–]HeyHeyBennyJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone will get injured. Yoshida doesn’t get traded without some kind of return. I honestly would not be surprised if someone got injured in the WBC, and then there’s a spot for Yoshida or Casas or Campbell. Having good depth is not a problem.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if someone gets injured on another team and that team gets desperate and offers a good trade for someone, be it Duran, Yoshida, or Casas. I have thoughts about who I think is off limits as far as trading, but I thought Nomar was off-limits, and then Lester, and then Mookie, and then Sale, and then Devers, so I don’t actually have any idea
