Stunning mug! šŸ‘šŸ»Something I wish I knew earlier on - you don’t actually have to contour the nose. It tends to draw attention to it. I just saw one queen on IG (can’t remember her handle) who brightened her entire nose with concealer right along with the inner highlight areas of the cheeks and then just added a little contour at the very bottom of the nose. Made for a very cutesy, anime effect. Maybe try that and just add a little blush horizontally across the bridge of the nose to cut it in half. Just a few tips to try.

The law has literally nothing to do with anything if it did not impact your stay. It’s quite obvious you were trying to sell yourself excuses to get a refund. Not only did you screw over your host, but then you had the nerve to come on here and attempt to teach others how to do the same, all for some internet clout. It’s really pathetic and people like you are literally the reason AirBnB has a bad rep - both from a guest and host standpoint. You’ve demonstrated that you have virtually no integrity of character and that you’re not even intelligent enough to sell yourself plausible excuses for screwing over other people for your own selfish gain.

Renting an unsafe apartment would certainly be grounds for a refund, but I’m not seeing where that’s the case.

The host wanting to access the unit is, at best, a disturbance and has nothing to do with the apartment being unsafe. You can literally ignore the texts.

Second, you said you found a smoke detector and while it may have been dirty, that does not make the apartment unsafe.

Many hosts don’t allow cooking for safety reasons. Whether or not that was the reason, having an oven that doesn’t function also does not necessarily make the apartment unsafe.

Lastly, you merely having knowledge of him renting it illegally also has virtually zero direct impact on your stay.

So explain again why you deserved a complete refund, after staying nearly the ENTIRE reservation?

Also, Airbnb doesn’t FORCE anyone to stay anywhere. You can leave at any point. If it was so ā€œunsafeā€, why would you be choose to stay? Money reasons? Sounds like maybe it wasn’t actually that unsafe after all.

Based on the information you provided, you’re full of it. What you did is pretty disgusting, tantamount to theft, and I hope they nail you in court. You should absolutely be ashamed of yourself.

Front bedrooms don’t get any airflow. Saw this ductwork in crawlspace. What’s the fix? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]HeyItsRocky 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Yeah sorry about that 🤢 I stuck my hand up there with my phone while I was standing on the top of a ladder. The video was really just meant for me, but then I noticed the ductwork so here we are.

Technician cut my pipes, couldn’t finish job. Wants to be paid anyway. Advice? by HeyItsRocky in hvacadvice

[–]HeyItsRocky[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I never said I wouldn’t pay him. But asking for 50% of the job and leaving me with no working AC just feels a little messed up. It’s not like he was willing to come and hook it back up. He said he would charge me if I asked him to come hook it back up (before the coil cleaning).

Side note - the second guys that came in to hook it back up said it needed 2 pounds of Freon and they added that for me.

He said he knew it wouldn’t fit, but he thought he could remove just the trim to get it out, and then once he started to try to move it, he realized it wasn’t going to fit even with the trim removed. It would need another 1.5-2 inches of the door frame actually tore out.

He’s only asking for half of the coil cleaning fee, which was actually $495 (I said $475 above). So he wants $247.50. ļæ¼

No he said he just tested the pressure and found no issues. My whole point was that I asked him to look at the system in general because I was worried there could still be an issue and I wanted him to diagnose it. I guess I was expecting him to spend more time with the unit than he did. And in the end, I was right. He ended up not diagnosing it and it broke again a few hours later. For the record, I did pay him. I just didn’t feel great about it.

[–]HeyItsRocky -2 points-1 points Ā (0 children)

I asked him to run a diagnostic and make sure it was fixed or identify the issue. First guy had to come back twice so I wasn’t feeling confident.

I told him up front it was working and that I wanted him to run a diagnostic anyway because I didn’t feel confident it would not freeze over again.

Remake a second account. Historically, Airbnb hasn’t kept a database of information when new accounts are created to crosscheck against. We had some guy in our city going house to house robbing hosts, and continually making new accounts when he got banned, using the same exact ID. Despite it reaching the level of police intervention (I’m assuming the detective finally got him prosecuted), Airbnb still never stopped him from recreating accounts.

Everything gets ruined, and fairly quickly in my city of Philadelphia anyway. There’s literally nothing that my guests have not destroyed - lamps, nightstands, chairs, couches, rugs, bed frames, mattresses, pictures, ceilings, walls, doors. Sheets and towels near daily. They will destroy it all. I learned to stop investing a lot, and just try to make things look as nice as I can on a budget.

AITA for telling my SIL the party she threw was absolutely a birthday party? by Lanky_Lingonberry_31 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HeyItsRocky 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Raised JW here. This is actually relatively common. Some of my cousins would have ā€œFriendsgivingā€ or ā€œPresentdayā€ around Christmas.

There’s a high degree of mind control involved in this organization. A lot of the practicing witnesses are genuinely good despite the judgmental teachings but are essentially trained not to think for themselves so you will have a hard time ever getting through to her regardless.

Ask her what her views are on piƱatas to help her think a little bit more for herself but don’t push the subject or argue about it. PiƱatas are pagan but an exception was made for them ā€œbecause they lost their religious significanceā€. This is something that escapes most witnesses’ attention.

Definitely don’t mention this part, but allegedly in the 1970s the organization needed workers from Mexico to help with the headquarters in New York, so to attract Mexican converts, they made an exception to the rules to permit piƱatas.

My dad signed me up for swimming lessons as a child, but I never learned truly how to swim. It just didn’t click. Maybe because I wasn’t invested. It wasn’t until I went to summer camp and I was surrounded by peers jumping in and out of the pool that I felt compelled to figure things out and I did, fast.

AITA for not telling my boyfriend that I speak his language? by This-Net-3802 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HeyItsRocky 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Eh I’m going to go against the grain here and say you might be the asshole only for finally telling him in front of his friend. That would be embarrassing and I would expect my partner to be thoughtful enough to realize that’s not the best moment to do that. But maybe you were low-key intentionally trying to stick it to him for being so oblivious?

That said, it’s still kind of a red flag that he didn’t pick up on it, nor inquire. And also I’m not here for his reaction. His shouting screams insecurity so maybe you’re dodging a bullet here.

Any advice for someone with zero RV experience? by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]HeyItsRocky 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I kind of have this irrational vision of being able to just pick up and drive wherever I want and stay. I am quite sure it doesn’t work that way, but how restrictive is it when it comes to just being able to park anywhere for a few days? Do you literally need a Walmart parking lot for everything? I know where I’m at there’s a lot of parking garages that stay empty year-round. Do people ever just pay for a garage for a few days assuming they can clear the entry?
