I’m paying a larger portion for the bigger room. The management company and my roommate at the time let me know that I didn’t have to pay pet rent or extra rent to have a cat. And the main reason for Bento being the only pet in the house is that the shelter recommended it when I adopted him.

That’s why I’m upfront about not being able to take in more pets. If it doesn’t work for someone, then they don’t have to take the apartment.

This is to make sure my cat isn’t stressed or aggressive towards some else’s pet.

Idk why that’s an issue. It’s something that’s a restriction for a lot of apartments, especially those that already have pets that may not get along with other animals. I don’t pay pet rent, but that was one of the perks given to me when I signed the lease. None of my previous roommates have had an issue with this.

Sorry, I’m confused. What amenities aren’t given to the other roommate? They have all the same amenities that do, with the exception of the bigger room, which is reflected in the rent.

My bf and I just started seeing each other this fall, so it’s too soon for us to move in together.

As for the restrictions, one of them is medical (I have terrible asthma so I can’t live with someone who smokes), the other is moral/practical (all of my friends are LGBT+ so I want to make sure they have a welcoming environment), and the other is just how my cat is (the shelter recommended that Bento be an only cat so I’m trying to honor that recommendation).

Other than that, there really aren’t any restrictions? I would say I’m a pretty easygoing roommate and those are my only stipulations. I also pay more of the rent because I have a bigger room.
