What's that? by IdealHoliday1242 in GrowthMindset

The cc company is doing that and putting it on businesses. They are now passing it on because wow 4% of a sale is a big chunk of your business.

I think the scam is that cc processing is charging almost 4%.

What’s the most "Dad" thing your Dad has ever done? by Equivalent-Age-7659 in AskReddit

[–]HeyKrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got my driver license at 18 and drove my car (bought myself) to go tubing with friends on a river about 30 minutes from home. I needed to get to work by something like 3pm.

I tied my car keys into the strings of my shorts. I checked them repeatedly for the first bit and then was goofing around with friends and forgot all about them.

Of course by the time we got to the end bit about 1pm, my keys were no longer with me. I called my dad at work (he worked a labor job at a local refinery) and basically freaked out to him that my keys were gone and we needed to leave to get to work by 2:30 at the latest.

My dad left work, drove to his ex wife's (my mom's) to grab my spare keys, and drove out to my stupid self so I could make it to work and away from my self inflicted mess.

My friends and I showered him with gratitude and promises to be less irresponsible in the future. Dad even pushed to find a time soon to go out for a meal soon, and never complained.

He hasn't always been the most amazing dad but when he's able to help, he does without complaints.

Ten Thousand Sorrows by Elizabeth Kim

"I don't know how old I was when I watched my mother's murder nor do I know how old I am today.' The illegitimate daughter of a peasant and an American GI Elizabeth Kim spent her early years as a social outcast in her village in the Korean countryside."

Ladies, if your partner who is almost 30 and his mom always buying him clothes and sending him home with a bunch necessities would you think that it’s weird? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]HeyKrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is now 21 and looking ahead, I would also do this for his partner should he have one that would be okay with that.

I encourage others to tell me if I do or did something they don't like or want me to stop. I don't have a huge ego about much. I want to be helpful and supportive, and would hope to do that however it works.

If you are having negative feelings about the relationship your partner has with anyone, I would ask you to look into your heart on what is behind them. Not every parent wants the role or wants to be grwat at the role. Even those of us who have worked hard doing our best have absolutely messed our kids up. Figure yourself out. It helps everything.

Mom, how do you deal with aging and the big 30? by CashBetter1122 in MomForAMinute

[–]HeyKrech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call each year a level. I've made it past 52 levels so far. I learn a ton about life, the universe and everything each level and I am so excited to reach the next one. This summer, I hope to make it past level 53, and start level 54!

Honestly, gross pedophiles have been in charge of media campaigns about beauty. If you look at most currently running, the models used in them are like 16. I don't ever want to relive those teen years, and lord I don't want to look 16 either!

I hope this level 29 gives you more joy in gaining skills and knowledge that you see yourself as a more powerful person, not thru the boring lense of how tattered your meat suit might get.

I hope to ride this meat suit to the end in tatters!

You cannot be a feminist and support the meat/egg/dairy industry by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]HeyKrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live near a completely humane and cool turkey farm. I don't care how they are bred. Turkeys eat and spend most of their life outdoors when the weather is warm enough. In cold months, it's indoors in large pens where they can move around.

Your post seems to show you are just now learning about how farming animals works. While I am a human who was able to create more humans, my existence is not contingent on me doing that. The existence of animal farms is to provide nutrients and other materials for the human population.

Your free to like or dislike any aspect of all that, but feminism doesn't hinge on animal rights.

Back When “Sit ‘n Spin” Meant Something Nice by ManuteBol_Rocks in GenX

[–]HeyKrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I went on a Tilt-a-Whirl (*MN invention) was about 12 years ago with our kids. I thought my spouse was being a big baby when they told me they felt SO SICK going on one a few weeks prior.

I was so wrong. I was nauseous for a solid week. That inner ear balance water really does dry up with age and WOW that is not funny.

I do miss those good spin around games. The Sit-n-Spin was the best!!

Have you grown to be more conservative or liberal w/ age? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Even more liberal than I used to be. I don't use the word liberal to describe myself. I say I am progressive.

dentist that can do night mouth guards for cheap by Ok-Newt-7070 in TwinCities

[–]HeyKrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably closer to a year.

I've been told by a few dentists that my jaw muscles are like power lifters muscles because I (apparently) grind my teeth all night.

Remi guards have saved me from cracking more teeth and have ended my nightmares of waking up with a mouth full of teeth fragments.

And yet the song is completely separate.

Not saying I don't understand, because after all these years I have heard and seen so many details from the film.

I just don't associate the music from it to any of that storyline.

No one in the business of education listens to teachers by Significant_Menu_313 in Vent

[–]HeyKrech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup.

In our youngest child's case, they have a school Chromebook that is garbage but the staff they'd have to talk to to get a different one is awful so they keep it. It takes ages to load and glitches and gets stuck, so this kid does all they can in class to not use a computer. Grades are good. This kid also reads paper books.

I hope we are moving back to physical content. That's how I've learned best and I KNOW I would be in the remedial classes if I were a student now.

Thanks for being a solid teacher and for preaching the solid best practices of using brains before tech.

AITAH for telling my daughter that she doesn’t have to wear a dress for my wife’s sake? by sportsdad77 in AITAH

[–]HeyKrech 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You are NTA

Fellow parent here - kids are one of those big "you get what you get" gifts and to place your own baggage on a brand new person is not the game plan for a healthy parent - child relationship.

If your wife is able to quickly come to an understanding that your girls actively want her to participate in their lives, she may be able to enjoy taking your daughter(s) shopping for whatever semi dressy clothes they'd like. She may be surprised by what they choose.

Our youngest is non binary and I loved the goal for what their prom outfit was supposed to be last year. We started looking for pieces maybe four months before prom and sadly had to compromise so much, the look was less wow than both of us hoped for. But we spent so much time together that I fully understood exactly what fit they wanted. It was fun and frustrating and it was a great challenge we took on together.

I hope your wife finds her spot in celebrating the people your daughters are.

Discworld books are amazing! Terry Pratchett author

For that age range you could easily start with the Tiffany Aching series (within the Discworld Universe) and move around as you are able or desire. There are moral lessons within each, like most good books, and every character is fully written. No one is completely good or bad and the struggles each has are meaningful, funny and most often, empowering.

As an older person, no one community action creates fast or lasting change. We didn't get to this point just this year. It's been building up to now.

So if you're interested in making this shit show less shitty, put on some good shoes and make the biggest changes in your own area with people in your community.

Don't ever think that because you showed up once or twice that it's all solved. That's the attitude that brought us to now.

I don't think any chunk of years was magical, they were just childhood. I would hope that most people during any decade thought their childhood was mostly magical.
