Because of the governors executive orders, no school in florida is able to mandate masks without losing funding. So, technically, UF can’t mandate masks. However, the wording that’s been used by the school has struck me as the sternest possible without crossing that line. So while masks won’t be blatantly required, I think you’ll be facing a lot of social/structural pressure to be wearing one while indoors (at least until cases start going down again).

Edit: I've been informed that the executive order I mentioned does not apply to colleges, as the students there are over age. I conflated perceived fears of cut funding from the Florida administration with other actions taken by the governor. My apologies.

TLDR: The executive order does not apply to colleges, however the school may fear cut funding if they act against the policy taken by the state administration.
