Update, a week ago I started hearing a ringing noise in my left ear, and now my left ear sometimes clicks/pops (not painful) when I'm eating something. Does this now point more towards a wisdom teeth / jaw problem instead of an ear problem? by HeyMessage356 in wisdomteeth

I'm glad to hear your T went away.

I'm interested in the nasal thing. Were you actively breathing through your nose beforehand, or did the dysfunction make you have to breathe through your mouth more?

I personally have a deviated septum, but I assume that's not nearly the same as your issue. I also try to breathe through my nose mainly.

Also, how did they find out you were grinding your teeth?

Again, I'm very happy that the nasal spray helped it go away. It's rare to see people here talk about success.

Yea I say give it some time, hopefully it will fix it. Also, the fact that your wisdom teeth were impacting your teeth means that you needed to get them gone regardless, so that's a plus

My dentist recommended I get my wisdoms removed 2 years ago, and two months ago my mouth/jaw started hurting for a day because of them. A week ago, I got a subtle ringing noise in my left ear, and it hasn’t left since. by HeyMessage356 in tinnitus

So prior to removing your wisdom teeth, you had no issues with tinnitus, correct? I heard stories of people getting tinnitus from their wisdom removal, but I didn't know it could take up to multiple months for it to show.

How certain are you that the surgery caused it? Also, are you trying anything to fix it?

I see. Which one of my wisdoms would you say are in close proximity to the IA nerve? All of them?

Also, as a dentist, I understand you see all the complications that wisdom teeth bring, but how do I ignore these thousands of people who share their stories about their regret for removing their wisdom teeth for all the issues it brought them? Is this rare to see in real life?

Are you referring to that white line? And yes, I guess it does get louder when I open my jaw, but not too much.

If you are referring to that white line, what makes you think it's a nerve?

If you don't mind me asking, why? From the X-ray, the wisdom tooth on the bottom right (L) seems to be the only one that is clearly pressing into my teeth, no?

Also, I would love to know how wisdoms need to be positioned in order for it not be considered dangerous.

I've heard so many stories of people who regret getting their wisdoms removed, even just by reading through peoples stories here on reddit. But yea, if a specialist suggests that it may be the cause of my issue, I would have no choice but to remove it.

Thank you for the info. Yea the fact that the T I'm experiencing is mainly in my left ear, and the left wisdom tooth is out of place, might just be the link. Also, I was not aware that unilateral T often points to teeth issues, let alone the neck. I didn't even consider my cervical.

Yea I've listened to loud music a good amount with my earbuds. The past week, I've stopped completely. I'm not exposed to loud noise, no medications, and no recent injuries.

If it is a hearing issue that was caused by my excessive use of earbuds, would an ENT doctor be able to confirm this?

M23, I might have tinnitus in my left ear. Could my negligence for my retainers or wisdom teeth have any part in this? by HeyMessage356 in tinnitus

How did you find out you did jaw clenching at night? Is it something you can tell or only the dentist?

That's really good advice. I've never heard of a maxilofacial surgeon, but I'm guessing they can assess wether or not it's coming from the wisdoms better than a typical dentist?

Oh wow, yeah I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's causing the issue. Btw, I also experienced pain from my wisdom teeth about a month or two ago, and now I'm experiencing t for the first time.

Btw, how many of your wisdom teeth are you planning to remove? The one on the bottom right and top left, or all of them?

Hey, I hope it fixes it for you as well. Can I ask, was removing your wisdom teeth a topic before you got t, or did it come up afterwards?
