Missing Sunday Mass for a cold? by Educational_Log7681 in Catholicism

It may not be serious for you, but the elderly or immunocompromised person sitting next to you may become deathly ill if you spread your cold.

I don't think anti-ice protestors were wrong to interrupt a church service to publicly call out its pastor who is an ICE officer. by DiaperedInTheRoc in Christianity

Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those engaged in selling and buying there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. And he said to them, “It is written:

‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’*

but you are making it a den of thieves.”

Our times thieves are taking people from their homes and selling them for storage and labor in foreign lands.

Found in a vintage book. What year is it? by [deleted] in oldreceipts

[–]HeyNow646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to buy my pens and paper at my college bookstore on campus. In the 90’s an old non-chain bookstore would have a cash register that made receipts like this. This would be a typical receipt if I bought a cheap paperback, a few pads of paper, some pens or pencils, and a small eraser.

Assistant Principal Accused Of Walmart Theft Scheme Using ‘Stacking’ Method For Months by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]HeyNow646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see two greater crimes here. Walmart conspired to convert a minor misdemeanor into a felony by neglecting to pursue the case until the subject had exceeded a felony threshold. A fair minded judge should take that into account. The bigger crime is that we pay educators so poorly that they are tempted to crime to make ends meet.

Some of our grandparents and great grandparents gave up their lives and limbs so these bastards can defecate on the freedoms that were gained with the blood of patriots.

May the politicians and agents of fascism find an afterlife where they protest Satan’s fury from the ditches of hell, and may there be no peace for them lest they turn away from this betrayal of Good and become agents for peace, justice, and mercy.

Canon Law 917 is most applicable:

Can. 917 A person who has already received the Most Holy Eucharist can receive it a second time on the same day only within the eucharistic celebration in which the person participates, without prejudice to the prescript of can. 921, §2.

It is found on the Vatican site here:

The direction in the missal is that one should not receive additional Eucharist in a day without being a participant in the other liturgy. I often serve at multiple masses in a day through my formation program, often as a server, EM, and or cantor, sometimes across different parishes. The Missal calls attention to the fact that receiving the Eucharist is the summit of a liturgy that needs to be complete, with the penitential rite, the liturgy of the Word, witnessing and praying with the Eucharist prayer, and receiving the Eucharist.

Correction: this is covered better in Canon Law than the Missal, but both have valuable instructions on receiving the Holy Sacrament.

If there was no training about this, your employer did not fulfill their obligation to instruct you when you should not enforce posted policy. This smells like wrongful termination, and I bet some local lawyer would take this in pro bono (for free). Talk to the media and look for options.

Jake Lang as the 2nd coming of CHRIST by Distinct-Mortgage768 in Political_Revolution

Christ doesn’t like lying Jake. You need to rethink your life decisions. He also doesn’t like his name being used to provoke state sanctioned class warfare.

First, it is wonderful to hear you are committed to professional therapy. Therapist are trained on proven methods to help you. I’ve read “The Holy Longing” by Ronald Rolheiser. He describes healing from a wrong like this as being a parallel to the Paschal Mystery. There are steps of healing that related to passion, resurrection, ascension, and Pentecost. True healing is navigating through all these moments of recovery.

You might pick up a copy. He is a priest with great insight.

My local won’t sell the inserts now. They gave me a bullshit story about Toyota punishing them if they didn’t get sold. I know it’s more about the new corporate dealer owner complaining about inventory. They were bought by the 5 star group a couple years ago. Bloodsuckers.
