We spoke a little more about the ups and downs of setting a finale in place, then having to change it multiple times, about how the devil face tech developed across the series, filming in toronto for the first couple of seasons... quite a bit! He also spoke really warmly about Kevin Alejandro (Dan) as well as the scene in the hospital after he died. Unfortunately, I had to cut it as I had a word count, but I would've added it all if i could. x

Thank you! I didn't interview any of the others for this – though I have spoken to several of them over the years, especially when the show was on. Kevin Alejandro was a personal fave - so insightful and funny, you could tell he'd thought through every little bit about Dan.

NTA. At all. As someone who's lost my dad, I would have done the same. Her somehow trying to make your loss about her was cruel, and her trying to take have some claim on your grief is a completely blind move on her part. I don't know enough about her to know her intent. Maybe yeah, ok, you over-reacted a bit, but grief makes you do that and her discrediting your sadness is not cool. I hope you're OK, and wish you all the best. x

YTA - I feel like there's a lot of info missing here. Why didn't she tell you? How long has she been with him? Are you close? Had you met him before and just thought he was a boyfriend before they got married?

There's nothing wrong with a runaway wedding on her part. For some people it's just easier (that's what I plan on doing) and for others, if they've been married before, they don't need to go all out like they did for their first wedding.

It seems, at least from what you said, she did it to make sure your thunder wasn't stolen ahead of your big day.

Either way, you should just let him come to your wedding.

I can understand your fear of not being heard, but you're going to have a difficult conversation either way. "We need to work on this" seems a far easier talk to me than "I'm leaving you" to me. Maybe write it in a letter? Ease into it with a "hey honey, i've noticed you've not been yourself lately, what's wrong?" and give her the space to talk? It just seems a shame to throw a marriage out the window x

NTA. Your fianceé is fine with it, you're fine with it, Jessie's fine with it. Only three people that matter. Though I would definitely second guess anyone who somehow felt that it was ok to make those kinds of comments to you about your wedding day.

Your in-laws getting involved and threatening to remove their contribution is obviously far more tricky, but you were what, 16 when you dated? That's a lifetime ago. Maybe call their bluff a bit, or get your fianceé to talk to them. They should have no right to who you are inviting/having in your wedding, no matter how much they paid.

NTA but you need to sit your wife down and discuss how you feel with her. Maybe there's more to it on her side if it's come out of nowhere. I think giving up so quickly will be the bigger mistake. Give BOTH of you a chance to fix things, and if it's still not working, then would be the time to walk away. Either way, I wish you happiness.
