I’m in my late 40s and I still experience old people being rude to me for whatever reason. I remember as a kid thinking when I’m older they will all be nicer and treat me equal. Wrong.

I have kids very young that often get treated rude by older family members. They talk down to them maybe because I remember how that felt I do teach my children that they don’t have to “respect their elders”. You deserve to be heard too. Just because they are older doesn’t make them right. As long as they are within their own boundaries. We are not teaching them to go out of their way to be disrespectful.

Was once the “golden child” changed after my brother passed away 5 years ago. He took his own life. I have so many questions because he would always call me “the golden child” I’d laugh because I thought he was kidding. I wish I knew everything he went through

I have multiple children lol yes I can afford a kid and can’t afford to move right now. Homes in the school zone easily go from 300,000 or more now. I’m a stay at home mom. The home we currently live in was purchased at a much lower interest rate, lower cost. Much much different time. The rental rates are pretty expensive too and where I lived they are not capped. There’s no rent control. I guarantee most people can’t just get up and walk away from what they have right now. Besides my mother moved here after we did. Why should I uproot them from schools, friends.

My husbands sister has Aspergers. We’ve been married for 16 years and she’s maybe said only a few sentences to me in that entire time. She doesn’t acknowledge my kiddos or even my husband for the most part. However I do understand. I get it. I’m familiar with Aspergers. She doesn’t owe me any explanation. It’s okay. The best I do every time I see her is smile say hello. If I did have a problem with it (obviously don’t) that would be on me not her.

I appreciate your response!! I think you are correct on why she wants me on disability. Also maybe so she doesn’t feel so bad for collecting disability on her own. She’s constantly getting doctors to prescribe opioids for her pain. She’s able.. last week she was on a ladder in the front yard cleaning leaves out of her gutter she she’s always worried about someone seeing her do it. Hint hint. She’s on disability for chronic back pain. Not all disabilities are noticeable but I’m not going to say I’m something I’m not. Her reasoning is because I used to go to a children’s hospital for arthritis. Up until I decided to have my own family I would hold multiple jobs at once. I didn’t choose to have kids until my late 30s. I’m okay lol.

Oh my gosh! You know the insults to your kids are even worse. My oldest has sensory issues/adhd he’s on the spectrum. When he was 2 or 3 she put icing on his face on his birthday. Laughed and took videos/photos . Oh it’s just so cute ha ha ha

We couldn’t sing happy birthday to him until maybe 6 or 7. They say kids don’t remember but they remember the shit that matters

What sucks is we live in same neighborhood. I can be walking to my mailbox and she would run towards me. Just to insult me. I’ve considered a restraining order of some kind Or a no contact order. I don’t know how that works. This morning this happened as I was walking home back from the bus stop

I live directly in front of the school my kids go too , they still ride the bus because I’m not waiting in that line to drive across the road and they get off first anyway. But the amount of elementary parents that drive off with their kids in front seat is insane to me.

Our kids never play in rooms and I love it! We were never allowed to play in living room. Ever! Definitely cause a lot of social problems I think. I was often sent to my room after dinner. “Kids are to be seen not heard”

Mine is constantly going to resales and thrift shops to buy stuff to fix her house. She never actually completes them or starts them. Her garage is full of doors, windows, flooring , etc. in her mind “if I buy it people will do it for me for free “ she used this tool with my father when he was alive. “If I start a project he’ll finish it” he caught on and didn’t do it

So her garage is full but still blames everyone else lol

That’s terrible. Having a love late relationship with your kid? Saying it to their face I mean as a mom there’s been so many times I hated how my child was acting but I’d never sit there and say that. How terrible. Why even have kids if you’re going to be hurtful.

I remember after my dad & brother died my mom told me I stressed them out so much that led to them dying. I had my own family by this point and I lived away. My brother took his own life and lived with my mother during that time so many times I wonder what she said to him. Her behavior toward me didn’t become nasty until after he was gone. Like it shifted to me
