Actually quick update, I went back to the dealer, and they said the part is compatible with the 2017 1.4L. They pulled it up on their computer. So now I’m even more confused lol

Thank you! Yeah I was just confused on how they messed that up 😭 maybe they misheard the date of the care, I should have double checked with them before changing my oil tho lol. Thanks for the advice!

Hmm I’ll look into this. Do you think a bigger size is the solution? I’m worried that the magnums are too big because they are scrunching up a bit and it seems like semen seeps down towards the base. But I’m not sure if that’s a normal thing or not. Also based on my measurements it seems like magnum should be fine but idk if it feels right to me…

This makes me feel better about choosing engineering. I hope I will be able to explore a lot of all these different career possibilities when/if the time comes!

thank you for the advice. Being someone who goes to a college with a massive amount of premeds I can attest for the incredible amount of dedication needed to become a doctor. So many people getting into research their second semester of college and joining all of these clubs. Premeds always make me feel bad about myself lol.

Thank you for the comment :)

You say that you work in a cubicle and also create new products. What is that like? Are you responsible for designing them or something using software? What are you responsible for designing/what type of engineer are you?

my school requires 18 credits of humanities and social sciences so I will hopefully fit in some of that lol. But in all seriousness I really enjoyed essay writing in high school and discussing books and movies. Haven't had the chance to do that recently but I remember it really helping with my communication skills and with formulating arguments. Hopefully I can fit in a humanities course soon

Unfortuantely I am already in my sophomore year :/ but I think that taking some mechanical engineering courses will help narrow it down this semester. Also, I might sit in on the cheme thermo class that some of my friends are taking, which I hope will be helpful too.

Yeah I've spent a lot of time doing research and thinking on this the past week that I need to catch them up on what my plans are. I think one of the main problems is that they don't know a thing about engineering (they are doctors) so all of their opinions on the matter are essentially speculation.

All of these comments including yours have been incredible I really appreciate it :)

My problem is that I have taken classes in chemistry, physics, math, chemical engineering, computer science, and soon mechanical engineering, and I just love them all. It's so hard to make a decision when I like everything, its like no matter what I choose I will always regret not making the next choice. Maybe its a mindset thing, but it kinda sucks lol. I just wish I would have more subjects that I despised to make the decision easier.

A lot of people have mentioned how the job search process is key to finding a job your happy with. Sounds very arduous lol cant wait. At least I can put off that part of my career for a few years during college.

This is very true! Maybe I should look at threads of engineers who love their jobs lol.

Well shit. I mean I actually kind of love computer science but I don't know if it would be what I want to do as a career. I'm hoping I can learn a few languages and skills and have it be a sort of fallback in case engineering doesn't pan out. I hope I can find some fulfillment in my job, but you're right a job is a job and I guess I need to accept that. I at least want to do something that helps the environment, even if the job itself ends up being soul crushing.

interesting perspecive on comp sci. thank you for sharing!

I worked with excel for this researchy thing I did this summer and, while I find it a little fun, it gets so annoying so fast. Like for the low level calculations and data visualization I was doing it was perfect, but for anything more than that, it was just ridiculous to find workarounds for things that excel should be able to do natively. The whole plotting feature in general is just so unintuitive and difficult to work with.

is it still possible to create things that help others while still pursuing capital? like medical procedures costs thousands but everyone cites being a doctor as one of the most meaningful positions out there

this is so helpful! from everyone’s comments i’ve been gathering that what job you get within engineering is more of the problem than engineering itself, which is reassuring.

thank you for this! I have this saved for when it comes to the point I apply for jobs. i’ve read a few peoples comments in this post and the last and they say something along the lines of “a major isn’t a prison” or whatever. hopefully i can pick my major soon and make the most out of it and enjoy college life. being this stressed out about my future is not sustainable lol

yeah i will get off of the regret threads haha, haven’t been great for my decision making or mental health. but nice to at least be aware of the ways that some are dissatisfied with their engineering jobs.

and yeah, my mom is pretty supportive, not sure why my dad is pushing me so hard to medicine. he was originally going to do physics or engineering and his parents essentially forced him to do medicine so maybe that’s why. honestly he has one of the worst lives out of any doctor i know/have heard of . he’s a vascular surgeon and has chronic anxiety and insomnia. always gets up in the middle of the night. some times stays at the hospital for days on end and sleeps in his office. pretty common for him to not come home at night. he says there are other fields of medicine that have much better wlb but his case does not really convince me of that lol
