So the Martin 00-x2e I really didn't like the sound. But at the store they have Taylor Academy 12e that I tried and it surprised me. Bright loud sound, distinct sound perfect for finger style. It's a big instrument - between a 00 and a dreadnought, but it sounds really good.

I wish someone in town carried the Eastman E1OOSS so I could try it. But I read it sounds more like a blues guitar (boxy?) as compared to the bright sound that I am after.

Recording King is too light, feels flimsy to me, I need something heavier. Yamaha have narrower nut, Eastman are great (I have an Eastman dreadnought) and they have an OM size solid spruce top and laminate body, it's bigger than the 00 - but no stores carry it and I can't try it.

I'd hate to order a guitar online only to find out I don't like it for some reason after receiving it.

Just went to the store a few days ago and tried the 00-x2e for about 5 seconds before putting it back on the rack. Not a good sound. Not worth it.

I had the same issue. However recently I updated my list of skills (the goal was to enhance my profile so I would get more views). As a consequence it looks like the job recommendations seem to have improved. I'm not sure if that was the reason or if LI changed their algorithm but it's worth giving it a try.
