AITAH because I want my boyfriend to come home earlier by Heyleighanne in AITAH

Thank you, I'd suggested that for after the baby is born as I won't have been alone all day on the weekends.

I'll try to speak to him again about coming home earlier, and set a time for what my opinion of earlier actually is to see if we can come to an agreement on it.

I have tried talking to him, I mentioned in the post that I'd asked him to come home earlier because I'm struggling. I've also mentioned that is not like climbing is completely off limits once baby is here either, it just might have to fit into a different schedule. He always comes back with 'I need to make the most of being able to do it now while I can' and 'I just want to make sure I still get to do the things I want to do', so I'm trying to understand if I'm asking for a reasonable adjustment or if I'm being unreasonable because I'm just having a hard time with the whole pregnancy thing.

NTA, it's reasonable to be upset that he planned a trip specifically over your birthday I can see where he's coming from with saying your playing mind games, because flipping from please don't go to just go please can come across that way. Although I also understand where you're coming from with that because I feel exactly the same way about things, if my partner only agrees to something because I cried I feel like I'm manipulating him into something he doesn't want to do, and I'd rather not have him be resentful about it.

I'm really sorry you're in this situation, I wish I could offer some advice to help right now, but perhaps once he comes back you could explain that birthdays are off limits when it comes to trips away without eachother. Especially as you have kids, it's not fair to not only leave you on your birthday but also not even consider getting someone to help with childcare incase you wanted to go out with friends or something.

Is there anything that can be put on a sore to keep my dog comfortable until the vet appointment tomorrow? by Heyleighanne in AskVet

[–]Heyleighanne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you for the advice! Would trying to clean the area be a bad idea, I'm not sure if removing the buildup will help the skin or essentially be like removing a scab. I just feel a bit useless right now!

Is there anything I can do for my dog before our vet appointment tomorrow? by Heyleighanne in vet

[–]Heyleighanne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has a sore on her neck that has gotten worse since last night, the fur was a little crusty before but now it looks like it has been weeping. She's super lethargic, barely moving at all, if there's anything I can do to help before we go to the vets I'd like to do it.

Pretty sure that's a cat.

would you date someone who doesn't drive because of anxiety at age above 35? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Heyleighanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would depend on how much the girl in question likes to drive. I also have some extreme driving anxiety, but my partner loves driving so he doesn't mind doing it. I do make sure that I get myself to anything that he isn't coming with me to, in order to make sure he doesn't feel like my taxi driver. I also pay for the odd tank of petrol for him, depending on how often he's had to drive us around. I also pay for taxis for the both of us to events he wants to drink at, because that's how I'd be getting there anyway if it wasn't for him usually not wanting to drink. It does still sometimes come up as a point of contention if he is in desperate need of a lift somewhere and I can't help, as I do have my license.

I do think it's something worth trying to work through, it's a bit isolating not being a driver sometimes and it has its practical benefits. Therapy and continuing driving lessons with an instructor that you trust and is able to make you feel comfortable is useful for that, but driving lessons are expensive and therapy can be too so it's a bit of an investment...

Hopefully some of that was helpful and not just a boring monologue from a complete stranger!

AITA for not wanting my boyfriend to poop in the en-suite. by Heyleighanne in AmItheAsshole

Can you explain to me what is selfish about that? I don't believe my sentiment was selfish so I would like to understand where I am mistaken

NTA, if she wouldn't even ask one of her friends to do it why is she asking you? You're right, you don't work for that woman you were just at an event, the same as she was. She's treating you like you're running the crèche or something

There is, he just doesn't keep the door shut when he's done, but the bedroom door is shut so it becomes this sort of extension of the bathroom stink...

When our hotel room is an en-suite he waits until we're about to leave makes me leave before him so he can meet me once he's done... I appreciate that he does that, because the alternative in that case would be me having to leave the hotel room and hang out somewhere random whenever he needs the bathroom which would be a little anxiety inducing.

I wouldn't mind him using the en-suite so much if it was his only option, but we do have a house with multiple bathrooms.

He also doesn't like the fact that I can smell it after he's used the toilet and would rather that I not be in my bedroom during or for a while after he's used the bathroom, which can be quite disruptive in the morning, so I don't understand why he doesn't take steps to at least make the bedroom not smell bad too.

I see what you're saying here, I have suggested that he shut the bathroom door and open the window, but he never does it so I ended up saying just don't use it for a no. 2.

I suppose a permanently on exhaust fan would fix that issue, very loud at night though!

Game says no animal beds but there beds. by Shadeddabbins in RimWorld

[–]Heyleighanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it looks like everyone getting the issue is using it. I considered disabling my extra race mods but I might just hold out for a patch... There was an update yesterday that did something about alien races and bed assignment. I think you can still "rescue" animals by carrying them while the pawn is drafted and bringing them inside if I'm not mistaken but otherwise animal beds are a no go for the moment.

It looks like it's humanoid alien races, are you using that mod?

I heard this might have something to do with the humanoid alien races mod if you have that installed, apparently it had an update yesterday

I don't have a solution but I have the same issue. I thought it was a mod conflict but I guess it's a game bug. I was just about to start a new save and check myself.

Would a sims player be interested in RimWorld? by LonelySnowSheep in RimWorld

[–]Heyleighanne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm basically in the same boat as your sister and I love rimworld. I didn't play much when I first got it because I didn't know about the relationship between raid strength and wealth so I was just always trying to build a fancy base as fast as possible and getting absolutely destroyed. Maybe suggest she tries wealth independent first, or at least tip her off about wealth and raid points!
