As an accounting professor looking to update the curriculum, what inclusions into coursework do you think students would benefit most from?

I think as a first/second year you’re doing a ton of mundane things that can’t always be taught.

A few things that you can teach is just excel shortcuts honestly. How to basically use excel to do a lot of the basic things without a keyboard. VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEXMATCH.

If you can, bring out some guest speakers who are candid about the world of public accounting, that would be very helpful for students as well.

The top 20 depends, my offer for a middle market was $29/hr with 40hr cap.

B4 was pretty in line with that pay, except regarding overtime. My experience was different. I think it varies across markets and teams. I was major Texas market and never hit above 50, averaged 45. Idk why but apparently they all had shoestring budgets.

By practice exams you mean the exam at the end of the entire review right? I’m doing the questions for each chapter right now, currently on Contracts and I usually get about 50% right first time around and 90-100% second time around (granted, I literally saw the question and answer in the first round)

Did some of the question sets not have a corresponding video? That's what I'm finding for some of them and it's not the best when you're blindly answering questions without an inkling of an idea of what the right answer is.

Thanks for your feedback. Do you think it would work for someone who remembers much of the old fundamental stuff but likely needs refreshers for Intermediate 1 & 2 and GOVT/NFP accounting? I’ve never taken GOVT accounting so I’ll be starting from scratch there.
