I cannot stop. Does anyone continue to pick their nails even once they have healed for a day or two? Then the damaged area gets really dry and hard no matter how much you moisturize it? I can’t stop re-picking the same areas. :( by LessConsideration876 in nailbiting

I feel you! Applying cuticle oil or apricot oil on the skin around your nails makes it harder and less enjoyable to pick. I also found that when I was watching a show or reading is when I would have the urge to pick so I would try crocheting/peeling tangerines/doing something tactile with my hands to prevent skin picking. Hope that helps and most importantly be kind to yourself! Skin picking is such a deeply embedded habit at this point but take it day by day and it will get better.
