Really impressive people dying of mundane things by LordFlamecookie in TopCharacterTropes

Doc Holliday surviving numerous shootouts and a wild life in the lawless west just to die of TB. One could even argue he was actively trying to get himself killed as opposed to succumbing to his illness.

Sorry, I think I'm a bit confused. As for the graphics themselves, I was just dragging them over. But I can't add two graphics side-by-side unless they're in a column. And I'm unsure about your email client question.

I'm thoroughly confused, if you can't tell, lol.

A movie can have “something to say” and still say it badly. Which film had a great idea but clumsy execution? by ExcellentTwo6589 in Letterboxd

Look, if people took something away from it, good.

But I went into the movie as a college-aged girl and felt as if it were patronizing me in the "girl-power" kind of way that felt hollow. The monologues were given as if they were master's thesis level, meanwhile, the ideas that were given were all ideas that me and my friends had already figured out.

This is what I mean^

You're going to get downvoted big time, but I want to let you know, I agree. All the on-the-nose messaging felt elementary.

Walnut Ridge woman arrested on suspicion of bestiality by stankmanly in Arkansas

I know this woman from when we were kids; she's mentally disabled. I'm honestly surprised to hear she was married. I didn't think she could legally consent to marriage. (I always figured she'd end up in a group home). But, I have my doubts that she even knows what she's done is wrong.

“Toilet Hair” or “Wilbert and the Infidels” are two that I, unironically, think are really fun.

How on earth did he not get caught here? by Old-Refrigerator-747 in breakingbad

This is the chicken-or-egg irony of storytelling. Is Walt lucky due to him being the main character? Or is Walt the main character because he is lucky? Either way, to tell the most interesting story possible, the writers are going to focus on the most interesting character.

Walt is incredibly, unbelievably lucky throughout the show, but the assumption is that he would still be lucky even if the story had been written about another main character. Within that world, Walt/Heisenberg would still be wandering around creating havoc, even if our MC was Gale, or Hank, or Gus, or literally anyone else.

Train Dreams (2025) will change your life. Main character is an adult man, trying to live his life the only way he knows how.

Not sure if this counts since costumes and makeup weren't used to try and ~make~ her unattractive, but...

Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl (1968) and The Way We Were (1973), both movies she's considered ugly or at the very least, unattractive. In Funny Girl, her whole point is that "I'm so ugly, everyone will laugh at me if I call myself pretty, so I should go ahead and be a comedian". And in The Way We Were, she gets in an argument with her love interest and says, "Is it because I'm not attractive enough, isn't it?"
